About Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA)

Established in 2023, CMA is a global business unit platform with operations in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. It represents the single centre of excellence for our advisory business and related financing activities across ING, incorporating Corporate Finance (M&A), Acquisition Finance, Global Capital Markets (Debt Capital Markets, Asset Securitization and Ratings Advisory), Corporate Investments and Loan Distribution Group. CMA aims to capture opportunities in our clients’ boardrooms to deliver high value-added strategic advisory and financing services. In addition, CMA business units play a central role in the acceleration the firm’s strategic ‘must-win’ on capital velocity.

About Asset Securitisation (ACec)

  • The ASec team is a front office commercial unit within GCM, which assists ING Wholesale Banking clients through the provision of asset backed funding solutions.
  • ASec has a core focus on securitisation structures, including both i) ING or asset backed commercial paper (ABCP) funded asset backed/securitisation lending deals and ii) publicly/privately placed ABS deals into capital markets.
  • ASec works collaboratively with Sectors, Bond/ABS Syndicate and Financial Markets sales professionals within ING, to originate, structure, and execute transactions.
  • A global group with teams in New York, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Singapore and Sydney, who work as multi-disciplined tribes on local and international transactions in a highly collaborative environment.

Job Opportunity

  • The position is for an Associate within the Asset Securitisation (ASec) APAC team, which is part of Global Capital Markets (GCM)
  • The role will report both functionally to the Head of Asset Securitisation APAC
  • The successful candidate will join a fast growing and highly dynamic and multi-skilled global team of banking professionals with experience in successfully originating, structuring, and executing Asset Backed Securities (ABS) deals across Asia Pacific
  • The focus asset classes for the ASec team currently includes residential mortgages, auto loan and leases, equipment receivables, consumer receivables, credit cards and a variety of other esoteric asset classes
  • Key markets that the ASec APAC team operate within include Australia, Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore
  • The position provides an excellent opportunity to also work with various departments within ING including our global ASec team, ABS Syndicate, Financial Markets and or coverage experts within broader Wholesale Banking.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Support in the origination, structuring and execution of transactions for external clients and ING
  • Co-manage various approval and documentation processes including performing due diligence and analysis, preparing credit applications and associated internal approvals, cashflow modelling of various asset classes, and reviewing legal documentation
  • Portfolio monitoring including but not limited to annual credit reviews, modification requests, covenant and portfolio tracking, maintaining files and documentation, reviewing and processing disbursement requests, and preparing pipeline and profitability reports
  • Coordinate supporting operational processes to ensure a seamless execution and in-life management of transactions, including onboarding of new clients, meeting KYC requirements and interfacing with support functions such as Risk Management and Loan Operations
  • Preparing presentations and marketing material for new opportunities, assisting in the maintenance of industry and market intelligence databases
  • Assisting with relationship management activities including contact with internal and external clients and prospects.

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Strong academic track record with Undergraduate or Masters
  • 3-4 years experience in the financial services sector. Prior securitisation experience particularly Korean ABS transactions will be viewed favourably
  • Analytical minded with sound modelling skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive and flexible team player with a ‘can do’ mentality and good interpersonal skills. Entrepreneurial spirit and an open mind to work on new concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): Must have outstanding Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills used within a cohesive, global team environment and in client interaction
