ING Australia is on the search for Lead DevTest Engineer to join the team! Reporting to the IT Area lead you’ll enhance existing or build new test frameworks for Tribes and provide guidance around solving problems.

In this position, lead the creation of testing strategy taking into consideration process, technologies, frameworks, process and roles and a range of maturity in test automation adoption.

What you’ll do

  • Build, maintain, and enhance test automation scripts and frameworks, including infrastructure, test data, and execution practices.

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing corrective action plans to ensure quality and efficiency.

  • Lead testing efforts across projects through effective planning, scheduling, oversight, and execution.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices and drive value-adding initiatives.

  • Manage personal responsibilities while also building and nurturing a high-performing testing team.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong programming skills in Java and C#, with a focus on API testing and API test automation using Java.

  • Skilled in Agile methodologies, with a deep understanding of functional, regression, and acceptance testing.

  • Experienced in implementing test automation reporting frameworks and trend analysis strategies.

  • Familiarity with events streaming tools e.g., Kafka

  • Skilled in defining effective test data management strategies within CI/CD environments.

  • Hands-on experience with performance testing using JMeter.

  • Strong advocate of TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) practices to ensure high-quality software delivery.

  • Tertiary qualification in computer science or a related discipline.
