We’re on the hunt for an experienced Product Owner to join Mortgages Originations team.

As a Product Owner for Mortgage Originations, you will lead a squad within ING’s Agile framework to deliver key projects and initiatives that enhance the mortgage origination process through digitisation and process improvements. You will co-manage and prioritise the product backlog, represent the voice of the customer, and ensure compliance with regulatory and business standards. Your responsibilities include defining business and product requirements, managing risks, and driving continuous improvement to optimise customer journeys and deliver measurable business outcomes. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timely delivery of high-quality solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Our ideal candidate is a strategic and customer-focused professional with strong expertise in digital channel optimisation, process improvement, and Agile delivery. They have experience managing product backlogs, driving end-to-end initiatives, and collaborating across squads and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. They combine analytical thinking with a deep understanding of customer journeys, regulatory compliance, and risk management, ensuring every decision enhances customer experience while meeting business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Lead an Agile squad to deliver key mortgage origination projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage and prioritise the product backlog, defining user stories and acceptance criteria to achieve squad KPIs.
  • Represent the voice of the customer, optimising customer journeys and improving time-to-decision through digitisation and process enhancements.
  • Define and implement business and product requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors, maintaining transparency and managing dependencies across teams and tribes.
  • Drive continuous improvement, monitoring performance metrics and implementing structural enhancements to products, services, and processes.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in Agile delivery, including backlog management, sprint planning, and working within cross-functional squads.
  • Expertise in digital channel optimisation and process improvement, ideally within financial services or mortgage originations.
  • Ability to represent the voice of the customer, with a focus on enhancing customer journeys and delivering measurable benefits.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in product development and operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of aligning diverse interests and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with product management experience, able to develop business cases, define requirements, and drive continuous improvement.
