Values and way of working
Think of a bridge – a bridge connects people, places and possibilities. It helps different worlds meet and creates a path forward where one did not exist before. That's what our Product team do. Every day, product leads, product managers, customer journey experts, together with architects, analysts, operations specialists and engineer bring different perspectives to build solutions that make banking simpler, faster and more effective.

As Georgiana Funieru, product manager Global Integration Services, explains: "It's impossible to have all the answers upfront. What helps us is having colleagues who help each other, challenge ideas constructively and step outside their formal role when needed."
That same mindset is visible across the team. Dan Savin, product owner in Wholesale Banking Financial Markets, puts it simply: "Our goal is to understand the problem first, and then work collaboratively towards the best solution." The team combines structured ways of working with the flexibility to adapt when circumstances change. Processes provide direction, while continuous feedback and learning help solutions evolve.
Work and impact
The Product teams develop digital products and platforms used across ING's international ecosystem, helping improve experiences for clients, colleagues and business partners alike. Their work contributes to a broad range of domains, including:
- Payment services
- Financial Markets
- Digital channels
- Risk management
- Global applications and tools
Their approach goes beyond delivery, with a strong focus on creating solutions that are:
- scalable
- transparent
- intuitive
And on continuously improving the way people engage with products and information.

Corina Ionescu, product manager, explains: "What makes our contribution particularly impactful is that our products are part of much larger journeys, while remaining fully integrated into ING's broader ecosystem."
Collaboration across countries and cultures is part of everyday life for the Product teams. Working in this environment has shown that successful delivery depends less on location and more on shared goals, stakeholders' alignment and trust.
As Maria Codrea, Product area lead Core Banking and Global Products puts it: "When teams have a shared vision, clear ownership and the autonomy to deliver within agreed outcomes, geographic distance becomes less significant." She adds: "Rather than treating different stakeholder needs as complexity, we've learned to use them as input for building more scalable solutions."
Team dynamics
While products are measured by the value they deliver, people are what make that value possible. The team's success is built on collaboration and a shared commitment to solving meaningful challenges. This mindset comes to life in regular planning sessions, refinements, workshops and day-to-day conversations create an environment where colleagues openly share knowledge, challenge assumptions and support one another in finding the best solutions.
As Georgiana Funieru explains: "What I enjoy most about this role is that it sits at the intersection of customer needs, technology and people. The topics with tight deadlines or high complexity often bring the entire team together. It's rewarding to see everyone putting effort into solving them."
For Adriana Mecu, customer journey expert in Global Payment Services, the team's strength comes from balancing professionalism with a positive atmosphere: "We work hard, support each other, share knowledge, celebrate achievements, and always try to keep collaboration fun and enjoyable."
She sees processes as guardrails that help ensure consistency, compliance, and a safe experience for customers. At the same time, she remains flexible in how those processes are applied, adapting to real customer needs and situations. "We work hard, support each other, share knowledge, celebrate achievements, and always try to keep collaboration fun and enjoyable. We see processes as guardrails that help ensure consistency, compliance and a safe experience, while remaining flexible enough to respond to the needs of customers, stakeholders and the business."
Why join them?
Joining the Product teams means joining a community of curious minds who are improving customer journeys, enabling operational excellence, supporting global platforms and shaping digital experiences. Every contribution helps move ING forward.
For Corina Ionescu, product manager for one of the global applications in Wholesale Banking, one of the most rewarding aspects of working in product development is seeing the difference even small improvements can make: "What people usually see is the outcome – clear priorities and delivered features. What they don't see is the amount of reflection, trade-offs and quiet problem-solving that goes into getting there."
Daniela Andrei, customer journey expert in Wholesale Banking Digital Channels, believes here is a place where people can grow and create meaningful impact: "Product work gives you the opportunity to influence not only what gets built, but also why it gets built and how it contributes to a larger vision."
And that's what the Product teams at ING Hubs Romania make possible: connecting today's decisions to tomorrow's opportunities.
