As a Data Analyst in the Lending Tribe, you will find your home base in the Data Analyst Center of Expertise. From there, you will serve a squad in one of the dedicated product areas or expertise centers, addressing their data analysis needs.

Data Analysts are responsible for importing, analyzing, and evaluating large quantities of data in relational databases and unstructured forms to enable innovative problem-solving, insights, behavior models, and communicating how those findings support improvements in decision-making, reliability, customer experience, profitability, etc. We are seeking a candidate who can collaborate with the scrum team and stakeholders to translate business needs to solutions.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborating with the scrum team and business users/ stakeholders to understand the problem statement, and then develop a customer driven solution.
    • Act as a bridge between analytics and IT teams, bringing a data-driven perspective.
  • Reporting, Insights and Automation:
    • Produce data insights using SQL and other programming tools.
    • Leverage data analysis skills and statistical techniques to uncover valuable insights that support decision-making.
  • Data Structure and Applications:
    • Design and enhance data structures to ensure accuracy and integrity.
    • Modify applications to extract relevant information from company databases.
  • Industry Interaction:
    • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and industry experts.
    • Understand how data should be transformed, loaded, and presented.
  • Additional activities
    • Identify new opportunities to improve the domain critical key performance indicators.
    • Gather an analyse statistical data from the business areas for supporting use case changes.
    • Act as a data subject matter expert for designated product space/area.

Who are you?

You are an ambitious Data Analyst who can add value based on his/her in depth knowledge about data exchange patterns and have a vison to further automate the client and employee journeys. You are passionate, bring new ideas, open to others suggestion and a great team player. You have good communication skills and open to learn new skills.

Your skills, education, experience and background should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years working experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis, statistical techniques, and data mining; basic knowledge of machine learning.
  • Experience/affinity with Wholesale Banking Product Area(s) and/or Lending products
  • Experience in integration patterns (e.g. reconciliation)
  • Excellent problem analysis and judgment skills
  • Experience in defining data needs and design the data (exchange) model
  • Experience with working in complex international environments
  • Capable to be a (sparring) partner for the ING business lines and support functions
  • Knowledge and experience in the agile/scrum way of working
  • Excellent (English) verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in accounting, amortization cost, fair value, mark to market

Good to have:

  • Masters degree or other relevant professional qualifications
  • Experience with Lending back-office systems such as Loan IQ
  • Knowledge of accounting or finance schemas
