The Tech Netherlands organization consists of more than 2.000 talented engineers, who are working together over various locations (Netherlands, Romania, India, Philippines) to deliver and own best in class services and applications for our customers. Each product or capability is led by an IT Area Lead, of which Lease is one.

Lease

Within Lease we offer corporate clients (SEM, SME, Mid-Corp and Wholessale) the ability to lease equipment to run their business effectively. Our aim is to provide this service offering through our Digital Channels, and with ability for consumption by other ING Lease countries. Today the collaboration exists between Netherlands and Belgium. We are intent on exploring expanding this to other prospect countries where ING is present, but has no active Lease business yet. This will entail the further productization and hardening of our Lease digital products in order to make them ready for re-use and integration in other countries’ customer journeys.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As successful IT Area Lead, you:
  • Lead the design and delivery of our digital customer journeys, combining commercial off-the-shelf solutions and in-house developed microservices for cross-country consumption. You assure the needed Tech vision and productization.
  • Drive change and continuous improvement, fostering a high-performance culture within your team.
  • Manage an international team with full delivery responsibility, including vendor management and IT custodianship.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, actively listen, and find solutions that balance technical excellence with business needs.
  • Communicate with clarity and confidence, bringing a strong point of view while remaining open to constructive dialogue

How to succeed

  • Education: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on engineering skills, primarily in Java, and the ability to understand complex technical architectures.

  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience as an IT Area Lead or equivalent (Engineering Manager), with responsibility for delivery and team performance

  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate ideas clearly, influence decisions, and lead discussions with conviction.

  • Mindset: You nourish a high-performance culture, have a growth mindset, collaborate well and are solution-oriented. You embrace change and inspire others to do the same.
