Tribe Credit Risk Management (CRM) is an enthusiastic and diverse team of 76 highly qualified professionals spread across four chapters: Credit Risk Analytics, Credit Risk Management Business Banking/Private Banking & Wealth Management, Credit Risk Management Private Individuals and Regional Restructuring Unit.
We are responsible for managing the credit risks in the lending portfolios of all segments in the ING NL book (Business Lending, Wholesale Banking and Private Banking & Wealth Management). We do this by developing and maintaining compliant policies, taking into account both regulatory requirements, changing macro economic landscape but as well as changes in the markets our customers operate it. We do this by setting credit risk appetite as well as policy rules, monitoring the portfolios using data driven analyses and having a close understanding of the developments in both regulations as well as our customers in our lending books.
Role and responsibilities
The Chapter Credit Risk Management Business Banking & Private Banking Wealth Management represents the Tribe’s expertise and skills w.r.t.: credit risk appetite, regulations, general credit risk policies as a tool for credit decisioning throughout the loan lifecycle from origination to special asset management and collections.The scope is bank-wide and covers all products and segments within Wholesale Banking, Business Banking and Private Banking scope (from one-man businesses to Large Corporate Clients). Credit Risk management framework covers several dimensions including sector, product and ESG angles as well as range of automation from instant to assisted to customized/manual. We closely cooperate with our business stakeholders in order to contribute to better business while pro-actively managing the associated credit risks.
As a Senior Risk Officer Policies and Portfolio
You are responsible to:
maintain up to date policies and monitor adherence to those policies
manage risk appetite framework, optimally allocate risk appetite, cascade RAS metrics to operational level and monitor effectiveness of RAS allocation
monitoring of the portfolio performance, including forward looking analysis and deriving insights, conclusions and actions
execute the 2line role of Credit Risk Management and ensure being in control of Credit Risks
you are responsible to keep policies in scope in line with regulatory requirements and execute required changes when those requirements change
you drive changes within your scope of responsibility to proactively contribute to better business by embedding data driven risk management decisions into the Credit Risk policies, processes and monitoring activities
demonstrated ability to assess and set appropriate risk appetite for new business initiatives proposed by the organization, ensuring a balanced approach that accelerates sustainable portfolio growth while maintaining prudent risk management practices
you are a partner of the business, and you perform stakeholder management with the business and Group Risk and regulatory affairs
How to succeed
You have experience dealing with the Business segment (Netherlands or international) in 1st or 2nd line roles and therefore have a thorough understanding of
The Business Banking Products and Sectors. Experience in the Front Office is a plus
Strong Project management delivery capability to ensure efficient throughput times of policy changes
Great stakeholder management capabilities, where you are able to ensure alignment with the Business on Risk/Reward topics where you keep a close eye on both Risk Appetite, market developments as well as adherence to (changing) regulatory requirements
You are a partner of both the Business, as well as transaction approval teams and Group Policy teams.
You have at least 3 years of experience within Credit Risk function of Wholesale Banking or Business Banking portfolio, which can include policies, transactional approval, first line process or implementation activities. You have performed analytical tasks in your previous role, and therefore:
You understand Banking conceptually and have a strong drive to increase your understanding and follow market developments
You have experience with Credit Risk regulation, i.e. interpretation of the regulation, implementation of the regulation and a good view on how regulations impact operational activities in the 1st line
Design and drive qualitative and quantitative analysis
You can write and speak in English fluently (Dutch is an advantage)
You have proven record of driving and implementing change
You have project management experience (experience in Agile Way of Working is a plus)
You have hunger for deep understanding and striving for impact
You are stress resilient and able to prioritise and manage yourself effectively
You constantly develop yourself professionally and you are passionate about Credit Risk related topics
