Onboarding: Global Lending Support

This is your home during the programme. Firstly, you will be onboarded within our Global Lending Support team. You will attend our kick-off event, core banking training, sector deep dive sessions, ING credit policy training and enrol in our focused mentorship scheme. You will then be placed into live production within our centralised GLS team supporting the Wholesale Bank globally across 25 locations and all of our sectors, including corporate sector lending, specialized lending, project finance, leveraged finance, object finance, trade commodity finance, financial institutions and working capital solutions. During the rotation you will be enrolled in our Early Career Track training programme which is run centrally though our Amsterdam head office and includes virtual instructor led training and in-person classroom training throughout each year.

First rotation: Best fit

Your first rotation will be shaped by the information you provided during the selection process as well as your own personal preferences. You will work in one of our local departments, such as Corporate Sector Lending, where you’ll collaborate with our experts on live syndicated transactions. You might also join Corporate Sector Coverage, supporting our relationship managers as they engage with corporate clients. Each rotation is designed to give you hands-on experience, build your confidence, and help you discover where your strengths lie.

Second rotation: Will you go abroad?

Your second rotation is a chance to deepen your knowledge of the business and build on everything you’ve learned so far. You could join one of our front office teams, such as Asset Securitization or Structured Distribution Solutions, where you’ll work closely with experts and gain hands-on experience. There’s also the possibility of spending time in one of our major European offices including Amsterdam, London, Madrid or Paris. Just like your first rotation, your placement will be based on your preferences, your strengths and the needs of the business. It’s all about finding the right fit and helping you grow.

Final stage: Wrap up your LendForward journey

To wrap up your LendForward journey, you’ll take on a final rotation with our Global Lending Support team. You’ll join a new sector group, gaining fresh insights and broadening your experience across different markets and industries. As the programme comes to a close, you’ll partake in our global learning experiences sessions where you’ll share your journey with fellow graduates, reflect on what you’ve learned and celebrate your achievements. You’ll also attend our closing event, a chance to connect, look ahead and mark the beginning of what comes next. For those who show strong potential, permanent roles at ING Dublin await. This is just the beginning!

Responsibility from day one

ING Dublin’s LendForward Graduate Programme prepares you for a future role in a very dynamic landscape. You’ll quickly familiarise yourself with our clients’ businesses and the sectors they operate in, and contribute to decision making through your analysis and recommendations.

In our business every day brings a new opportunity to use your initiative. You’ll have the support of senior colleagues, buddies and mentors, but how you achieve your objectives is up to you. Along the way, you’ll learn the principles of corporate lending and work alongside our experts on live syndicated deals. You’ll also learn relationship management and negotiation skills that will benefit you for life.

Selection process in 5 steps

1 – Expression of interest

The first step of the selection process is registering an expression of interest. This will add you to the mailing list for future updates and go-live of the formal application process.

2 – Submit your application

The next step of the selection process is filling out your online application. You submit your CV and motivation letter, and ING will be in touch regarding your first screening.

3 – Take the assessment

Should you pass your first screening we will invite you to take an online test to assess your ability to understand, interpret and evaluate information, and whether you align with the ING culture.

4 – Interview with HR

After passing the assessment, we will invite you for an interview with our talent acquisition team, we will ask you competency-based questions with the input of your online assessment results.

5 – Business panel interview

The final step in the selection process for the LendForward programme is the business panel interview where you meet representatives of ING’s senior management from the business rotations plus the programme manager. This is your moment to share and showcase your unique skills and talents and to ask your burning questions to our senior leaders. If successful you will receive a job offer from ING and you can sign the official contract shortly afterwards.
