ING is looking for a senior backend engineer to strengthen our Channels NL domain. The team
Join ING Netherlands as a Backend Engineer where you will be part of a cross-functional

team of talented individuals. Together, your team will work with the latest technologies to

innovate and develop solutions.

Roles and responsibilities
You will be working in a DevOps squad in retail banking. With the squad you are end-to-end responsible for the customer journey you are working on. You own the stack and the journey!

• Develop and maintain reliable applications
• Write automated tests
• Setup CI/CD pipelines
• Adopt a DevOps and Agile mindset
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to define and design features
• Incorporate security best practices into all stages of the development
• Contribute to the team’s growth through mentorship and technical interview participation
• Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends

Required skills

• Java 11+ and Spring Boot (API)y
• Experience in code versioning tools, preferably Git
• Experience in Test Automation (JUnit, Mockito, etc.)
• Working knowledge in RESTful API Development
• Behaviour Driven Development, Domain Driven Design
• Monitoring (ELK, Grafana)
• Kafka
• SQL

• First and foremost, you need to be a strong coder, have an interest in IT security, and develop with reliability in mind.
• You are an experienced engineer with more than 5 years of experience in Java development using Spring(boot). Ideally you have experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cassandra and Kafka
• You have great analytical skills and conceptual understanding.
• You can quickly understand new technical concepts and technology, and you have a strong interest in, and vision of, the latest trends in software development and technology
• You must be a true team player. You will work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and business colleagues.
