Roles and responsibilities
As an Intern in the FIG Coverage team, you will support our Relationship Managers in serving key financial institutions. You will be exposed to the full client relationship dialogue — from strategy and analysis to execution and client interaction.
You will:

  • Assist in the preparation of client pitch books, financial analyses, and sector briefings
  • Support relationship managers in day-to-day client management and business development
  • Help coordinate deal execution across product teams, Risk, Legal, and Compliance
  • Conduct market and client research to identify new opportunities and trends within the financial sector
  • Contribute to internal projects, such as product mapping and client portfolio analysis
  • Drive and monitor KYC activities for clients and ensure customer data information systems are kept up to date
  • Gain deep exposure to ING’s financial products and institutional client coverage model

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.
We’re looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual who’s eager to learn about the financial sector and client coverage within an international banking environment.
You have:

  • A (pre-)Master’s or last year Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or data tools is a plus
  • Fluent English (Dutch or another European language is a plus)
  • What we offer
  • A unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience in institutional relationship management at a leading European bank
  • Exposure to senior bankers and product specialists across multiple business lines
  • A steep learning curve and insight into how banking products and strategies are developed for financial institutions
  • A collaborative, international, and intellectually stimulating work environment

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on 36 hours work week

  • Your own work laptop

  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation

  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities

  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues
