The Mission

As an Ops Engineer, you will be part of the Core Banking Tribe within ING Hubs Romania and you will have the opportunity to provide end to end solution for the payments systems used by ING Bank Germany.

Within this project, you will work in AGILE environment following SCRUM methodology togheter with the squad Heart Of Payments.

Core Banking components lie at the heart of the Bank, and it is important for us to deliver high quality code, designed to run in a high availability/high performance context.

Your Day To Day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

• work with our agile teams to ensure smooth operation of backend applications;
• automation of processes and optimization of existing deployment pipelines CI/CD;
• supporting the environment and coordinating releases and deployments;
• implementing and monitoring solutions regarding availability, performance and security;
• compliance with it governance requirements and operational standards for business continuity, security, or auditing;
• responsibility for the 7x24 h availability of the systems (includes occasional on-call duty);
• advising the development teams on operational requirements such as observability, resilience, scalability and maintainability;
• coordination of topics with internal and external stakeholders (departments, service providers, ING-group).

What you’ll bring to the team

Experience: 3 years + as an Operations Engineer.

Tech stack/ knowledge:

• troubleshooting on Windows Server;
• basic operations with Linux;
• have professional experience in the development, administration or operation of business software;
• have knowledge in continuous delivery, IT security, configuration, API and service management according to ITIL as well as application monitoring;
• have experience in the DevOps environment, with e.g. Java, Spring Boot, Openshift, ELK/Elastic Stack, Tomcat, Oracle etc;
• have knowledge in some of the following tools/products: JIRA, Confluence, Docker, Git/Stash, UC4/Automic, Ansible;
• bring an Agile mindset, curiosity and problem-solving skills;
• have successfully completed a MINT degree or an apprenticeship in computer science;
• speak fluently English.

Nice to have:

• deally have experience in the environment of banks or financial service providers;
• Foreign languages: German (not mandatory);
• Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
