An exciting new position is now available for a skilled Credit Review Officer to join our Mortgage Operations, Centre of Excellence Risk & Obligations team.

As a Credit Review Officer, you’ll be responsible for setting up, creating and embedding a superior credit risk management framework encompassing new originations policy, and portfolio management across retail portfolios - Mortgages, Cards, Personal Loans & SME loans. You’ll provide assurance on the appropriateness and effectiveness of the Retail Credit Risk controls in place to originate and manage the Bank's retail loan portfolio.

This role sits in the 1st line risk space and supports the monitoring of Delegated Lending Authorities across portfolios. You’ll play a key role in improving our lending processes and will be expected to provide feedback on enhancing policies to optimise the credit underwriting processes while managing risk.

This is a permanent position that can be based in either Sydney or Wyong.


What you’ll do

  • Review files for adherence to policy, underwriting guidelines and the quality of exception and deviation approvals.
  • Help design a risk-based sampling strategy to ensure maximum coverage of high-risk areas related to Mortgages, Cards, Personal Loans & SME Loans.
  • Line 1 report production – capture data and population of credit hindsight reporting (individual credit analysts and reporting summary reporting for lending operations).
  • Participate and provide support in activities related to credit review outcomes i.e. Data gathering for SOX testing.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a similar role with a focus on credit risk review or as a Senior Credit Assessor within financial services is ideal. 
  • Currently or previously held a DLA (Delegated Lending Authority) or equivalent within residential mortgages (preferred) or within consumer lending.
  • A high attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels and manage relationships effectively.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to work both autonomously and cohesively as part of a wider team.
