Line 1 Risk Lead - Business Banking (Senior Manager level)

Now, we’re looking for a Senior Risk Manager to lead our Safe Business function and help shape the future of Business Banking.

As the Safe Business Lead, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our Business Banking products and distribution channels operate safely, efficiently, and in line with our risk appetite. You’ll be the driving force behind proactive risk management, enabling safe delivery of change and regulatory compliance and driving a strong risk culture across the front line of our fast expanding Business Bank


What you’ll do

  • Develop and deliver strategies to improve safety and resilience of our business operations as we grow
  • Partner with leaders to identify and manage key risks across sales and distribution channels, product life cycle, operations and our partner network
  • Coach teams to build a strong risk culture and capability
  • Oversee remediations and ensure regulatory compliance across a range of risk disciplines
  • Collaborate with projectsteams to ensure business change is delivered safely and IT and cyber risks are managed
  • Lead initiatives to drive operational efficiency across risk management activities
  • Monitor risk metrics and share actionable insights to inform investment roadmaps
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing, inclusive team

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years in banking or financial services, with deep expertise in Line 1 risk
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks within Banking sector (APRA, AML/KYC, Privacy, etc.)
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills at senior levels
  • Pragmatic and commercial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Exceptional communication skills, data driven approach to problem solving, and risk management mindset
  • Passion for collaboration, coaching, and building inclusive teams
