As a Lead Engineer, you’ll alternatively contribute to one of our squads and work in a cross-tribe role-driving advancement in our engineering practices. You'll lead by example and coach others to develop and test robust, adaptable code that is always production ready.

What you’ll do …

  • Responsible in executing futuristic processes and programs that maintain integrity and performance of ING projects

  • Responsible for technical design and code reviews

  • Develop innovative solutions to challenging problems / real time problems

  • Ensure alignment with proper development standards and coding practices

  • Mentors the team on technology concepts and ensures team compliance to best practices for design

  • Evaluate risk by identifying development complexity, limitations and impacts.

  • Determine development feasibility within identified constraints.

What we’re looking for…

  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead backend engineer with extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Microservices, Kafka and SQL

  • Familiarity with Open Banking and the Consumer Data Right

  • Lead the adoption of Agile / Scrum practices, methodologies and attitudes

  • Technical leadership in delivery for significant software applications / project

  • Strong knowledge about design patterns and development principles

  • Experienced working with offshore teams.

  • Tertiary qualified in Computer science or similar.
