Your role & work environment

As a Data Protection & Privacy Customer Journey Expert at ING you will play a crucial role in enabling a safe and impactful data-driven culture at ING.

For this position you will join as a Data Protection & Privacy Customer Journey Expert the DBees Squad. Here you will be a member of an agile and multidisciplinary team of 9 professionals. The main mission of the team is to support marketing and analytical initiatives by providing data. In your role, you will ensure our data and processes are complying with data governance regulations & policies.

Your key responsibilities

Provide recommendations & support on implementing Data Governance best practices (Data governance frameworks including Data Quality, Data Classification, Data Retention and Data lineage) ;

Design, promote & educate on a safe & responsible usage of data amongst the data analysts & customer journey experts communities :

  • Active participation to sounding boards with compliance and legal teams

  • Organize training around data protection best practices;

Act as GDPR legitimate interest expert:

  • Communicate the agreement that were made on Exco level to data analysts and customer journey experts

  • Stimulate cases based on legitimate interest

  • Start and maintain an inventory of cases that are put live based on a consent/legitimate interest basis

  • Support complaints management ;

Promote & further develop the Privacy dashboard:

  • Make use of insights to get our customers familiarized with the privacy dashboard and Increase the level of email consent, GDPR & cookie consents

  • Follow-up and act on potential changes in the e-privacy regulations.

Act as Gatekeeper on the Data retention plan (Follow up and update with the squads on the tribe retention plan) ;

Performing and reviewing various Data Protection Impact Assessments ("DPIA") including advising on privacy by design and by default requirements;

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, compliance or information technology with strong fields of expertise in data protection, privacy matters, new technologies laws and/or on data management, or new technologies including AI science and/or equivalent experience of 3 years

  • 2 years relevant experience

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management

  • Relevant experience with GDPR and cookies consent legislation

  • Relevant experience interacting with legal and compliance department

  • Relevant experience in project management

  • Experience in SQL is a plus

  • Excellent ownership on tasks assigned and demonstrate well established organizational, problem-solving and prioritization skills

  • Be able to influence and convince

  • English is a must
