At ING we are looking for a Data & AI Engineering Manager

Your role and work environment:

AsData & AI Engineering Manager,you´ll provide strategical technical leadership for all products and services within the data ecosystem including data platforms, data delivery processes and the AI foundations proposition. You’ll be responsible of the following products:

  • Execution of Data Platforms Next Generation:
  • New process for Data Products End to End based on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Big Data Process on cloud.
  • Data Management ( Governance & quality ) on cloud.
  • Ensure running of Data Platforms in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Work with Innovation and AI foundation team.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Product Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the execution of the Data Driven Banking initiatives
  • Co-create the “HOW” with the business lead and Data Driven Banking lead.
  • Aligning with the Business Lead the IT Strategy more feasible to the development or new product
  • Guaranteeing Business delivery and Tech standards compliance.
  • Provide solutions for improving services reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Be aware of the best technologies that can improve our systems.
  • Define IT Team/squad composition
  • Define Squad/product/Program organization with Business Lead
  • Manage end-to-end products development, ensuring seamless integration and delivery:
  • Define with the IT Management Team of the tribe the Engineering Agreements which could ensure the Time to Market, and the Product quality required in the bank as a part of the DoD.
  • Design systems with resilience in mind and proactively manage incidents to minimize downtime and ensure continuity. Support in Production by analysis and fixing any bugs that occur. Contribute to improve the technical discipline by collaborating with the cross technical chapter. Learn of errors.
  • Resilience-by-design and proactive incident management
  • Contribute to the management of the incidents in production.
  • Identify best Way of Working for having the adequate performance in the tribe.
  • Define the and identify the IT GAPS in each team/product/project for improving the IT Quality Gates to provide the best solution to our clients.

  • People development:
  • Lead Data Engineers.
  • Improve our engineering practices, prioritize quality over quantity.
  • Ensure the professional development of each Data Engineer.

  • Budget management & Collaborate with finances and external providers.
  • Being your key stakeholder's right hand: aligning tech transformation with business evolution taking advantage of business needed to transfom and innovate

In your tribe subdomain along with the IT Area Lead

  • Execute CIO Strategy
  • End to End Product Ownership: The Engineering Manager, within its domain, in collaboration with key stakeholders, harness product delivery
  • Efficiency: Focus on product change and run efficiency to achieve a healthier and sustainable tech landscape
  • Networking: Collaborate closely with other chapters leads within and outside the tribe and Identify synergies with other tribes.
  • Ensure a highly skilled and motivated chapter:that shares knowledge and lessons learned
  • Ensure a safe, open, experimental, continuous learning, collaborative culture
  • Help improve our engineering practices
  • Responsible of the transformation agendaapplicable to the assets of the subdomain
  • Responsible of keeping the alignment with group standards
  • Responsible of ensuring the required levels of servicein all environments with the assets under scope

What are we looking for?

Proven track record and technical skills

Essential:

  • Engineering’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proactivity is a must; we are expecting a LEADER.
  • Architectural skills
  • Experience in Data Projects based on Public Cloud Technologies.
  • Strong knowledge and development experience of Public Cloud (Azure or GCP)
  • Desirable data migration to cloud projects.
  • AI adoption process experience.
  • AI development experience on Public Cloud.
  • Passionate
  • Strong analytical, people management and communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Broad net working inside the bank
  • Able to work in an autonomous way and to take initiative
  • Improvement spirit looking for better solutions and questioning the what for we do the things
  • Loving to collaborate with different people
  • Making things happen and ‘can do’ attitude
  • DevOps and Agile culture

Nice to have:

  • Preferably with managerial experience within an agile organization, and inspiration to continuing working in this matter.
  • Without fear of escalating problems within the International Group
