The Team

As ING continues its evolution as a digital‑led and data‑driven global bank, ING Hubs Philippines stands as one of the organization’s most dynamic centers of excellence. Established in 2013, the hub has grown from a pioneering team of 27 employees into a powerhouse of more than 6,000 professionals, delivering end‑to‑end operational, technological, data, and analytical capabilities to nearly 40 countries across the ING network.

Over the years, the hub has positioned itself as a global enabler—supporting functions from financial markets processing to data and analytics, risk services, technology engineering, and large‑scale regulatory and transformation initiatives.

Within this ecosystem, the Data Quality (DQ) team is a newly established, strategically significant function dedicated to strengthening ING’s global data foundation. The team is accountable for enabling enterprise‑wide data quality monitoring, remediation, and uplift—ensuring that data across all business lines is complete, accurate, traceable, and governed with the highest level of integrity. This capability directly underpins the Bank’s ability to meet regulatory expectations, support digital innovation, and operate with confidence in a data‑centric environment.

The Mission

To ensure we unlock the full value of our data, we must guarantee its completeness, accuracy, auditability, traceability, and protection. The Global Data Organisation serves as the first line of defense in securing robust data chains, working in close collaboration with all functions, business lines, and countries across the Bank.

The Global Chief Data Office (CDO) plays a pivotal role in this mission. As a central organizational unit, the CDO partners with stakeholders across the enterprise to enable frictionless customer journeys, support ESG-driven innovation, and deliver data products that enhance decision-making. With emerging trends such as digital wallets on the horizon and increasing regulatory expectations around data governance, the CDO is evolving to meet these challenges head-on, ensuring our data remains both a strategic asset and a safeguarded resource.

The Opportunity

In the new organization, Scalable Data Services will enable our operations capability by establishing a new global service model that provides countries and business functions with end-to-end data services in line with global mandates.

This new global service model accelerates the centralization and standardization of our design implementation, increasing our global steering over countries and domains and providing Chief Data Offices with tailored expertise that balances global consistency with local relevance. This enables a harmonized way of working that facilitates faster remediation of gaps, consistent monitoring and the ability to produce measurable and comparable outcomes. Scalable Data Services will have functional synergies with both the design and transformation capabilities of CDO, ensuring that our frameworks are translated into transformation work throughout the bank and ensuring that this is done in line with global roadmaps and priorities.

As Data Quality Expert, you will support operational delivery of data quality services by combining subject matter expertise with execution capabilities within ING Hubs Philippines, working with teams in Hubs Romania, the Global Data Management team and hierarchical reporting line to the Circle Lead of Data Quality. Your role is to execute data quality controls, monitoring, and remediation processes efficiently and consistently across domains, enabling trusted and compliant data at scale. You will actively support the execution of data quality services strategy - from identifying issues to embedding sustainable fixes - while fostering a proactive, preventive data culture across the organization. You will play a critical role in systematically enhancing data quality throughout the organization, to ensure data quality remediation and prevention of issues at their source.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Data Quality Expert, you:

  • Deliver the tracking and monitoring of data quality indicators across the bank through data quality reports and dashboards in compliance with ING’s data quality framework.
  • Perform root cause analysis on prioritized data quality issues to determine appropriate fix forward and fix backward actions or remediation plans.
  • Work with key stakeholders to align expected turnaround times for remediation, gaining approval for suggested remediation actions, and coordinating the appropriate action with the teams that are responsible for executing those actions and monitor remediation actions till closure.

Your Competences

As a Data Quality Expert, you:

  • Understand banking regulations and gather data quality functional requirements in order to define and create data quality rules or standards for identified critical data elements in coordination with data owners, data stewards and operational teams
  • Work with IT engineers that will implement these data quality functional requirements in tooling.
  • Support the development of Data Quality tooling through testing the data quality programs that have been developed against the functional requirements that were defined.
  • Participate in central data cleansing activities to accelerate the data quality remediation.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and projects.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A graduate of Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledgeable on Data Quality Management practices such as Data profiling, DQ Assessment, Data Cleansing, etc.
  • Able to understand the business context and regulatory requirements in order to define data quality functional requirements and standards.
  • Experience with Data Quality related solutions is a plus
  • Experienced in understanding data quality reports and dashboards and can effectively do root-cause analysis of data quality issues.
  • Experienced in developing solutions for remediating various data quality issues or a similar role that requires problem solving and stakeholder management.
  • Skilled in communicating on complex topics and solutions and must be open to ideas from others. You can create appropriate data quality remediation plans and coordinate effectively to gain approval for the execution.
  • Comfortable working in in an international context.
