Senior Payroll Consultant

We're seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Consultant to join our Payroll team and play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant and customer-focused payroll services for more than 2,200 employees. With shared responsibility for the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process, you'll ensure our people are paid accurately and on time while contributing to a seamless employee experience. 

This is far more than a payroll processing role. As a trusted payroll subject matter expert, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to enhance processes, improve operational efficiency and maintain compliance within a complex payroll environment. 

Working closely with our payroll provider, ADP, alongside Workday and the broader People & Culture team, you'll have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives, influence meaningful change and help shape the future of payroll operations at ING.

What You'll Do 

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and exceptional service delivery. 

• Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, awards, taxation, superannuation and employee benefits. 

• Partner with Human Resources team, Finance and external vendors to resolve payroll matters and deliver seamless outcomes. 

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance controls. 

• Prepare payroll reporting, reconciliations and insights to support business and regulatory requirements. 

What We're Looking For 

• Extensive payroll experience within a medium to large, complex organisation. 

• Proven knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and compliance requirements. 

• Experience working with payroll systems and advanced Excel skills.  ADP and Workday experience would be highly preferable but not a prerequisite 

• A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes. 

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
