At COO Tech, our mission is to bring transparency and control over which IT products and services are delivered and consumed throughout ING in a standardized matter, leading to faster, more cost-efficient and increased usage of our growing technology platform. Change and Transformation is one of four departments that contribute to this purpose. As Change & Transformation, we serve the MT CTO on their strategic priorities. The department consists out of Change Experts, IT Management Consultants, Portfolio Managers and Process Experts. You report hierarchically to the Lead of IT Management Consultants.

Key responsibilities
As IT Management Consultant, you will advise senior leadership on complex IT management challenges. You will work with subject matter experts to understand and clarify problems, provide meaningful insights, formulate IT domain strategies and their execution plans, outline target operating models, craft new value propositions, facilitate and accelerate decision-making, and shape new programs in collaboration with change experts.
You will typically work on 1 or 2 projects at a time, each lasting 2 to 6 months. You will be the driving force, iterating quickly but with a first-time-right mentality. When applicable, you will form a team with other internal or external consultants.

Examples of topics at play are:
•    IT Operating Models (including organizing around Digital and Data Products).
•    Cloud Strategy.
•    Reliability Strategy.
•    Cybersecurity Strategy.
•    IT Risk automation.
•    IT Performance (e.g. cost management, velocity, stability, and workforce management).

What we are looking for
Education:
•    Master degree and other relevant certifications. Studies on Business Administration, Information/Data Science, and Information Engineering are a plus.

Experience:
•    8+ years of professional experience, of which 5+ years in Management Consultancy at a tier 1 or tier 2 consultancy firm.
•    A strong understanding of IT Management is a plus. You are able to easily translate technology matters and trends into business goals and the other way around.

Very strong consulting capabilities such as:

Strategic skills:
•    You have the ability to develop long-term strategies, visions and operating models.
•    You are experienced in workshop facilitation and know how to get complicated topics towards a decision in our tech governance bodies.
•    You excel at simplifying and visualising the complex.

Analytical skills:
•    You have strong quantitative analysis and problem solving skills.
•    You are able to quickly master a technology topic, distil the key issues and messages from data and interviews, and break up a complicated problem into smaller parts.

Communication skills:
•    You excel at executive and strategic storytelling, interpersonal communication and influencing.
•    You have very high standards on what a well-structured document or slide looks like.
•    You hold your own in meetings with senior leadership and articulate key points in a concise manner.
•    You have outstanding stakeholder management skills.
•    You have a high organisational sensitivity and are capable of creating buy-in and engagement at all levels of the organisation.

Technical skills:
•    Top tier proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. You are known as a PowerPoint-wizard and frequently impress stakeholders with your skills.
•    You know how to handle  data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.

Professional skills:
•    You are a hands-on professional with a strong ‘can do’ mentality, highly resilient and able to navigate through ambiguity.
•    You are a naturally collaborative person, who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals, but pushes where needed to achieve results on time and on quality. You are able to support yourself and other team members in their development.
•    You love to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose creative solutions to problem.
•    You have a strong focus on delivery through collaboration and the ability to bring people together to work towards the same purpose.
•    You have strong coordination and program management skills for running multiple initiatives requiring global resources in multiple locations and overlapping in time (incl. project control, scheduling, stakeholder management, benefit assessment and tracking).
•    You have an excellent level of English.
