The mission

As an SRE Architect at Wholesale Banking Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring resilient designs and implementations across our enterprise applications. You will be responsible for objectively assessing the application landscape and reviewing how well implementations support resilience patterns. Your strong analytical skills and profound knowledge of architecture and resilience designs will be essential in performing architectural reviews and designing robust application architectures.

Your day to day

• Assess and review application implementations to ensure they support resilience patterns in line with ING resilience blueprints;
• Identify flaws in designs through discussions with engineers and documentation reviews;
• Clearly communicate identified issues and potential solutions both verbally and in writing;
• Perform architectural reviews and design resilient application architectures.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Experience: demonstrable knowledge in enterprise architecture, with a blend of engineering experience;
• Technical Expertise:
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows;
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with RDBMS databases (Oracle, MS SQL) or NoSQL (Cassandra);
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD standards (preferably Azure DevOps);
  • Extensive experience with monolithic application landscapes;
  • Experience with message-based technologies (preferably IBM MQ or Tibco EMS);
  • Strong knowledge of distributed application landscape design;
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (experience with Prometheus;
  • Grafana, or ELK is a bonus).

Nice to Have:

• Good knowledge of IT security principles;
• Familiarity with containers and cloud tooling.
