Job Overview

• As a DevOps engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team to deliver robust and efficient engineering practice directed by business constraints while respecting controls. The role requires active collaboration with the developers, stakeholders, architects, and teams outside your area. You are also expected to report to your chapter lead and embody the orange behavior.
• As a DevOps engineer, you will be working with different teams across different ING sites, bridging the time difference between time zones. Acting as a DevOps extension for different teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide DevOps/SRE coverage for the Manila timezone, bridging global support windows and ensuring continuous system reliability and monitoring
• Own production deployments, release coordination, and rollbacks
• Monitor and proactively manage production stability and risks
• Lead incident handling during support windows and critical outages
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative fixes
• Improve monitoring, alerts, and runbooks to reduce incident impact
• Automate recurring operational and support tasks
• Coordinate closely with development and platform teams
• Support and mentor junior engineers
• Ensure service levels for availability, performance, and security

Key Capabilities/Experience

• At least five (3) years relevant experience on the DevOps practices including but not limited to:
  • Application/Software production support and/or development
  • Systems monitoring and alerting
  • Change management
  • Automating software development processes
  • System design, setup, configuration, and maintenance in public and private cloud
• Experience in delivering mission critical systems
• Experience in mentoring other engineers
• Experience in incident management
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• High communication skills (Written and Oral)
• Cultural Adaptability

Minimum Qualifications

• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent)
• Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
• Systems and Linux administration
• Monitoring and observability using tools like ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Automation and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, or equivalent)
• Source control with Git, including branching and versioning strategies
• Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and networking
• Lifecycle management, vulnerability management, and basic security practices
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Clear communication and ability to work effectively in cross‑cultural teams
• Proactive, hands‑on mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Willingness to take ownership, support delivery when needed, and participate in engagement initiatives
