Job Overview
COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank’s complexity. We translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We are an integral part of the Credit Risk Modelling organization where we manage our processes from credit risk modeling approach definition all the way up to postproduction monitoring. We hereby offer a unique opportunity to enter one of Europe’s most appealing Banks at a key position that enables you to contribute, collaborate and grow!

In a nutshell, it is all about collaboration and understanding the end to end complexity of the Bank in particular it’s products and related credit risk exposures [including corresponding processing activities and the way these are underpinned with state of the art technology solutions]. If you have a natural drive to collaborate and a sense of urgency to conclude and deliver we would be very keen to get in touch!

Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Product Owner within the Default remediation and Loss Given Default (LGD) data team who can help drive the end-to-end strategy of our services and provide strong leadership through clear prioritization and effective execution across squads. In this role, you are accountable for shaping what we build and influencing how it is delivered, carrying full responsibility for driving the product’s transformation from vision to execution.

Beyond managing delivery and day-to-day product operations, you will help shape the long-term vision for improving our services, maximizing business value, and elevating cross-functional collaboration. You will champion customer needs, steer the roadmap, and ensure the team is consistently focused on outcomes that drive meaningful impact.

The Remediation team focuses on ensuring complete and correct default and LGD related data for modelling purposes starting from data capturing to data delivery. The role is twofold as it is focused on performing historical default data analysis, data collection, and data enhancement for the wholesale banking portfolios, in line with latest internal and external regulation related to ING Definition of Default policy and LGD model estimation. You will further help management to develop and implement processes and working instructions, hold responsibility for KPI tracking and dashboarding as well as
support the teams in managing ad-hoc requests and help coordinating onsite
inspections by the regulator

As a Product Owner, you:
• Drive delivery with cross-functional squads, translating regulatory and risk
requirements into clear product goals and backlog items, and ensuring timely,
high-quality execution of remediation initiatives.
• Own stakeholder alignment and governance, collaborating with Front Office, Data Management, and Model Development teams to ensure solutions address root-cause issues and ensure regulatory compliance
• Perform historical data remediation for default cases within the Wholesale Banking portfolio (including Large Corporates, Commercial Property Finance, Project Finance, Lease, Trade Commodity Finance, Object Finance).
• Work in a team of experts which are all involved in ensuring complete and correct C&R data for current default cases in the WB portfolio in LGD lab (via standalone C&R tool).

Work on process improvements and help management to coordinate the ongoing remediation projects.

Key Capabilities/Experience
We are looking for a Product Owner who can define, prioritize, and drive the development of capabilities related to historical default data analysis, data collection, and data quality enhancement across the wholesale banking portfolios. You will ensure that our product roadmap aligns with internal and external regulatory requirements, including the ING Definition of Default policy and LGD model estimation standards. Familiarity with front-office banking processes, as well as restructuring and refinancing practices, is preferred. Experience with the dynamics of loan and facility cashflows is considered an advantage.

Candidates should have:
- Hands on experience with data analytics, and tooling. Including SQL and also SAS, or another (statistical) programming language.
- Proven experience in transformation programs and relevant change execution experience
- Experience in defining strategies and policies in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames
- Proficient expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary initiatives, ideally
involving topics like banking and technology
- A proven track record in process management and backlog management, with experience in project management being highly desirable

- Experience in explaining complex issues in an easy-to-understand way to get
people on board, including by using your strong analytical skills
- Education at University with a degree in a related study (e.g. Business
Administration, Technology, Finance)
- An excellent level of English

What we offer
- A clear purpose, a unique offer and a range of flexible compensation and other benefits:
- Personal growth & challenging work with endless opportunities to realise your ambitions
- An informal, dynamic environment with innovative colleagues supporting your
endeavours
- A progressive and agile way of working, where new ideas are valued ahead of
convention Furthermore, within the COO Risk organisation you can count on a range of opportunities to invest in your personal and professional growth. We want to make sure that it’s possible for you to strike the right balance between your career and your private life and
reward our people with a generous benefits offer and employment conditions.
