Senior Lending Specialist

As a Senior Lending Specialist at ING Bulgaria, you will be part of a team that has been serving Bulgaria’s corporate and institutional clients since 1994. For over three decades, ING Bulgaria has offered a comprehensive suite of products and services, including general lending, strategic product solutions, transactional services, trade finance, and financial market products.

The team

You will work within a team that blends local market expertise with the strengths of a global financial institution. ING Bulgaria is a core bank for multinational corporations, leading industrial companies, government entities, financial institutions, investment firms, and subsidiaries or joint ventures of foreign organisations. The team brings deep sector knowledge, a strong track record, and extensive experience in structuring and executing major landmark transactions.

Roles and responsibilities

• Actively participate in marketing activities for lending products, targeting both existing and prospective corporate clients in close collaboration with Client Coverage.

• Approach target clients to discuss financing opportunities and present tailored solutions.

• Manage the assigned lending portfolio and prospects in cooperation with Client Coverage and departments such as Transaction Services and Financial Markets, where relevant, to identify and discuss financing opportunities.

• Manage and optimise the assigned lending portfolio, focusing on risk-weighted assets (RWAs).

• Structure and submit credit applications in alignment with ING’s credit policy and risk appetite.

Essential skills and experience

• A master’s degree in finance, accounting, or an MBA is required.

• Minimum of eight years’ proven credit experience and corporate banking exposure within an international environment.

• Strong client focus, ensuring high standards of service and relationship management.

• Fluent English language skills, both spoken and written.

• Adequate computer literacy and proficiency in financial modelling.

• Sound knowledge of relevant regulations impacting the role.

• In-depth understanding of Transaction Services and Financial Markets products.

• Strong credit structuring skills and awareness of risk factors.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, both verbal and written.

• Effective problem analysis and sound judgment.

• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
