ING Culture: How We Work
At ING, culture isn’t just a poster on the wall — it’s how we operate every day.

  • Ownership & Freedom: You get the trust and space to explore and take responsibility.
  • Open, Inclusive & Down‑to‑Earth: We value diverse perspectives and open communication.
  • Always Learning: Curiosity and continuous development are at the core of how we grow.
  • Making an Impact: Your work matters — what you build can be used globally.

The Team
At ING, we work every day to keep our people, buildings, and systems safe — both physically and digitally. Our Intelligence team sits right at that intersection. We collect and analyse threat information and are always looking for smarter ways to use that data.

What you'll be working on

  • Centralize and streamline threat‑intelligence data
  • Build a proof‑of‑concept linking external threat feeds to ING’s physical security systems
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, gaps, and emerging risks
  • Develop three concrete use cases to validate your solution
  • Create a risk profile for ING’s physical security infrastructure (2026–2028)
  • Improve governance and risk‑related documentation

How to succeed
We don’t expect you to know everything — but we do expect curiosity, ownership, and the drive to figure things out. You’ll be supported by an experienced Intelligence Expert, while having the freedom to shape your project.

  • Studying HBO‑ICT (Cyber Security & Cloud or related)
  • Strong analytical skills

Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Experience with automation or data tools
  • Understanding of threat intelligence concepts
  • Interest in governance or process improvement
  • Familiarity with IT or physical security infrastructure

Who you are

  • Structured and reliable
  • Takes initiative and gets things done
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders

  • The chance to deliver a working solution that ING can truly use

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on 36 hours work week
  • Your own work laptop
  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation
  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities
