A day in the life of the Insurance Growth Manager for Assisted Channels

The Insurance Growth Manager is responsible for driving the commercial development of retail insurance products within ING assisted channels distribution network.

This role ensures that sales teams are equipped, trained, motivated, and guided to reach commercial targets by designing commercial strategies, monitoring performance, animating the network, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.

The goal is to boost growth in insurance penetration, improve customer engagement, and steer commercial activities aligned with ING business objectives.

To meet these objectives, the key responsibilities include:

  • Identify growth drivers and opportunities for insurance through portfolio analysis, market trends, and analysis of customer needs;
  • Understand and develop assisted sales bank-insurance distribution strategy leveraging a combination of retail networks (agencies and remote) and online channels – for both Life and Non-Life insurances;
  • Be an accelerator for the sales of Insurance products: define and implement commercial priorities, build and deploy KPI, manage commercial steering and performance monitoring, act as the orchestrator of campaigns, detect and share commercial best practices,…
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders within and outside of the Tribe Insurance: Product Value Spaces, Retail Advice teams, representatives of independent network, Remote Advice Center, Business Banking commercial teams;
  • Coach and develop a team composed of (i) 4 sales consultants supporting and animating ING assisted sales network on insurance (ii) 2 to 3 project leads / Customer Journey Experts responsible of sales projects.

How to succeed

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in marketing and/or distribution (e.g. animation of a distribution network, design of a commercial plan, implementation of sales growth projects,…); 
  • Understanding of Non-Life and Life Protection insurance products and of bancassurance model
  • Look ahead and show strategic mindset to design and execute commercial strategies;
  • Analytical skills to interpret commercial results and transform data observations into actions;
  • Great organizational skills and hands-on attitude to be able to manage several topics/projects and deliver concrete results in a structured way;
  • Ability to both manage and steer end-to-end roadmaps as well as to deliver concrete projects from A to Z;
  • Autonomous, driven for results, curious and entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Excellent communication (written & oral) and stakeholder management skills to work with various parties and align them towards a common goal;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch and/or French – Ability to communicate in the three languages is a plus!

The team

You are part of an ambitious and dynamic team focussed on revamping ING Group largest insurance franchise.

You are at the core of the design and implementation of the commercial strategy for the commercial success of insurances at ING.

You have senior leadership exposure, you report to the Head of Go to Market ING Insurance Belgium.

You are the central point between the Insurance tribe and other teams directly involved in the successful distribution of insurance products and solution.
