Mission

As a leader in the DevOps engineering community, you will play a key role in the continual advancement of our engineering practices through practices such as Agile and Continuous Delivery and your main mission is to enable your engineers to grow their mastery and get better in what they do every day by using industry best practices.

Your tribe, Digital Business Banking delivers the front as well as the backend for the ING Business Banking internet and mobile application. You will work on multiple and various projects (local and global road mapping) in the area with the scope to implement the IT strategy of the tribe and evolve the existing technical ecosystem by building a strong and secure DevOps foundation for the digital Business Banking channel.

As an IT Chapter Lead

· Lead, motivate & mentor the team and be the team representative;

· Inspire and encourage your Chapter members to develop themselves, providing them coaching on both the professional as well as the personal level;

· Create a culture in which employees take responsibility, help each other to be successful and always remain a step ahead;

· Contribute to the technical roadmap and evolve the technical capabilities in the area;

· Continuous improve the delivery process by learning and adopting latest trends in automation, security, resilience and reliability;

· Collaborate and partnership with other Chapter Leads, Product Owner, Architect and other roles in the bank to oversee the future developments and their deliverables.

Your day to day

As an Engineer Chapter Lead, you are responsible for leading and inspiring engineers in your team, for delivering the CI/CD pipelines, automation, tooling, resilience and security necessary for smooth feature delivery of our applications and for being the tech partner of the Product Owners in the projects across the area.

· Recruit, build & lead the team, motivate & mentor the team and be the team representative;

· Performance and career path management for members in your team;

· Create a culture in which employees take responsibility, help each other to be successful and always remain a step ahead;

· Role model in the development of your own capability across industry trends, technologies, methodologies, and behaviors;

· Develop financial and people resource plans for the area, ensuring resources are in place and operating effectively within the technical discipline;

· Handle delivery – identify, manage and escalate delivery issues and risks;

· Handle delivery – lead projects within the area like POCs, technology upgrades etc;

· Support the applications in production environment that are under your team’s portfolio;

· Together to your chapter:

  • Design and build the CD pipelines services following industry best practices
  • Engineering solutions which are highly secure, performant, and maintainable
  • Design, Develop and Implement continuous improvement processes through automation
  • Define and implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concept into operations
  • Automate relentlessly: Deployments, Operations, Regression Testing (Functional, Performance, Security).

· Be aware of requirements and underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches;

· Contribute to the implementation of the tech strategy. Translate the strategy in terms of the Chapter;

· Champion effective adoption of continuous delivery methodology, practice, and attitudes / mindsets.

What you bring to the team

· Strong technical leadership skills, including coaching, consensus building, and ability to effectively manage competing priorities

· Preferred experience in leading DevOps teams or managing application development, software delivery lifecycle, and/or infrastructure development and administration

· Good understanding of Software Architecture and security

· Experience in Technical leadership of delivery for significant software projects

· Extensive experience with continuous delivery, continuous integration, code quality (tools like: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Sonar, Scheduling tools, Linux, Service Now, Selenium, Cucumber)

· You are familiar with Monitoring solutions (Kibana, Grafana, PDC)

· Knowledgeable on both Windows and Red Hat operating systems.
