Customer Journey Expert - Portfolio & Communication

Within this department, the team takes ownership of Portfolio Management and Quarterly Business Review processes. In addition, we support our department in communicating effectively with stakeholders by providing templates, standards, Ways of Working and guidance. By organizing and facilitating impactful department events, we connect people, strategy and execution.

We are looking for a Customer Journey Expert with strong Portfolio Management skills, affinity with communication and a proactive, hands-on approach. You enjoy working with complex processes, engaging with diverse stakeholders and turning plans into results. You like to structure work, analyze data and have strong knowledge about Portfolio management, Quarterly Business Review and backlog management. Roles and responsibilities: General

  • Collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders across different departments and countries.
  • Actively request and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Portfolio Management & Quarterly Business Review (your primary focus)
  • Monitor and analyze the department portfolio health and define actions to continuously improve it.
  • Structure, maintain and report on portfolio and backlog data within Agile programs.
  • Act as the main point of contact on Portfolio Management, Quarterly Business Review and Agile programs/projects.
  • Prepare, organize and facilitate the department strategic alignment sessions and other related meetings.
  • Translate complex information into clear communication, dashboards and reports.
  • Department Communication & Events
  • Advise colleagues on effective communication with stakeholders within ING Global.
  • Develop, maintain communication assets such as newsletters, video and presentation templates.
  • · Organize and coordinating department-wide events, both content-wise and logistically.
  • Safeguarding consistency in the ING Look & feel, storytelling and writing style.

Proven track record and technical skills:

  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience in portfolio management, product management, consultancy or a similar role.
  • Strong experience with Portfolio Management and backlog management.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to structure complex problems and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Out-of-the-box thinking comes natural to you.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and comfortable working across various teams and disciplines.
  • Solutions-oriented, creative and able to explain complex topics in a clear and accessible way.
  • Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A good level of the English language for effective communication within the international environment.
  • You are willing to work in a hybrid setup, with regular presence in our offices in Leeuwarden and Amsterdam.

  • A salary tailored to your qualities and experience; this function is placed in GJA-15
     (NL salary scale 9)
  • Full time position (36/40-hour week)
  • 24-27 vacation days depending on contract
  • Pension scheme
  • 13th month salary
  • Individual Savings Contribution (BIS), 3.5% of your gross annual salary
  • 8% Holiday payment
  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation. Formal location can be Leeuwarden or Amsterdam
