IT Lead - Head of Retail Tech (Australia, Italy, Spain, BTP)

Position Title: IT Lead - Head of Retail Tech (Australia, Italy, Spain, BTP)

Responsible for leading Retail Technology department in ING Hubs Philippines. This role
combines technical leadership in software engineering and a nuanced understanding of ING
retail banking landscape in Australia, Italy, Spain. This role focuses on supporting the Global Tech
strategy: ensuring high level of reliability and resilience, driving adoption of scalable tech
solutions through Banking Technology Platform (BTP), and delivering transformation programs
that enhance customer experience and operational excellence, while ensuring regulatory
compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop strong functional-line partnerships with ING Australia, Italy, Spain, Banking
Technology Platform (BTP) CIOs and other senior technology & retail business
stakeholders across ING group, enabling them to realize strategic technology goals and
business objectives.

• As hierarchical manager to Retail Tech IT Area Leads: become their trusted partner by
setting a strong culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement,
helping them remove impediments, and sharing knowledge horizontally.

• Lead a large team of over 500+ engineers: build and sustain a high-performance
engineering culture. Develop strategy for workforce management and growth. Retain
strong level of engineer engagement and ensure a clear talent pipeline is available.

• As member of Manila Tech Exco: work with IT Leads in Retail Tech, Wholesale Banking
Tech, and Shared Tech to steer One Tech topics such HR, transformation, strategy, and
organization changes.

• As member of Mancom: work with the Country Manager, and executives from other
business lines and support groups to steer ING Hubs Philippines regarding crossdepartment
topics and decisions.

• Provide strong oversight and risk management at all times thereby ensuring that work
delivered by Retail Tech is safe, compliant and is within risk appetite.

• Financial accountability: ownership of budget and financials for the department. Ensure
rate card health and competitiveness. Ensure compensation and benefits for Retail Tech
remain competitive and in alignment with our market position.

• Support ING and ING Hubs Philippines’ sustainability and environmental targets.
The role hierarchically reports into the Country Manager, ING Hubs PH and functionally into the
Global CIO Banking Technology Platform.
