NSX Specialist - Datacenter Networks

The team

You’ll join a cross-border agile squad that is passionate about building and maintaining world-class infrastructure. Our team works closely with the Product Manager and other engineers to deliver high-impact solutions that keep ING’s cloud platforms secure and efficient.

Roles and responsibilities

As an NSX Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing and evolving the NSX platform and related datacenter network infrastructure. Your role will involve both strategic design and hands-on implementation, ensuring our systems remain secure, scalable, and future-ready.

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and high-performing network infrastructure

• Develop and automate infrastructure using scripting and orchestration tools

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to a shared team backlog

• Continuously improve infrastructure, documentation, and processes

• Monitor, evaluate, and enhance Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management processes

• Your work will directly support ING’s mission to provide frictionless banking experiences for millions of customers worldwide.

Networking & Security

• Deep expertise in VMware NSX (certification preferred)

• Broad knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Datacenter environments

• Experience with routing and switching protocols in high-availability setups

• Understanding of security and risk principles in infrastructure design

• Hands-on experience with firewalls and Open Networking platforms is a plus

Cloud & Automation

• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, Azure Automation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or AWS CloudFormation

• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus

DevOps & Agile

• Working knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code

• Familiarity with Scrum methodology (e.g., backlog, sprint planning, reviews)

Your education and background

• Professional and intellectual IT ability at least a bachelor’s degree

• Certifications or proven proficiency in Networking and Security

• Certifications or proven proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages

• Excellent command of spoken and written English

Stand-by shifts

Business-critical systems require 24/7 accessibility. If designated for stand-by shifts, you’ll receive additional compensation.
