Looking to make a meaningful impact in Non-Financial Risk (NFR) management at ING NL? We are looking for a proactive, innovative Non-Financial Risk Specialist to join our Non-Financial Risk tribe and the Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) team. This diverse team of seven blends data analysts and risk specialists, working together to deliver key insights and reports that drive our mission forward.

The team

As part of team PMR, you will be at the heart of smart data analysis and meaningful reporting—think NFR dashboards, NFR committees, and big-picture risk reviews. For this opening, you will play a central part in facilitating the NFR Committee (NFRC NL) and tackle NFR tasks overarching the full non-financial risk tribe. You will operate as a 2nd Line of Defence risk specialist, collaborating closely with Operational and IT Risk professionals, the Operational Design Control Resilience (ODCR) team, Group Risk, and our global Risk Hubs. Together, we keep ING NL ahead of the curve in risk management.

Roles and responsibilities

As an NFR Specialist you will help lead the way to, together with the lead, fulfill the Secretary for the NFR Committee (NFRC) NL role, making sure meetings run smoothly and everyone is aligned. In addition you will take on certain NFR specialist tasks. Your week-to-week will include:

  • Co-creating agendas with all the key players—think topic submitters, leads, and the CRO NL.

  • Checking and tracking all stakeholder submissions to keep things on time and up to standard.

  • Summing up decisions, actions, and next steps so nothing slips through the cracks—you will own the minutes and action lists.

  • Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on big-picture Non-Financial Risks, making sure ING NL stays within risk appetite and risks are managed and get escalated when needed.

  • Championing smarter, faster, more innovative NFR processes—because we know there is always a better way to do things.

We are looking for a team member with the following knowledge and experience:

  • You love teaming up with others and have hands-on experience in the world of non-financial risk. You know how to spot issues and get things done.

  • You have got a solid grip on at least one Non-Financial Risk domain and are not afraid to keep learning.

  • Stakeholder management is your jam—you easily connect business teams, risk experts, and leadership, making things happen across the board.

  • Clear communication is your superpower, and you are totally at ease talking to exco members and sharing your insights.

  • You are proactive, take ownership, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality input. You keep things moving, stick to deadlines, and get everyone on board for the ride.

  • Your writing and reporting skills are on point, and you are not shy about giving feedback to make sure our reports are top-tier.

  • You are naturally curious, always pushing for smarter, more effective risk management practices and drive innovation.

  • We love your adaptable, solutions-focused attitude—you are all about rolling up your sleeves and making things work frictionless.

  • English? No problem—you are fluent, and bonus points if you have got some Dutch in your toolkit.

  • You have completed a university degree or equivalent, and you have got 5+ years of relevant experience under your belt.

  • You live the Orange Code values, inside and outside of work.
