We are looking for an Events Lead. You’ll be responsible for managing and guiding the Events team in organising a variety of internal and external client events. You will play a hands-on role in event planning and execution, ensuring that each event meets our high standards and objectives. Your role will also involve significant stakeholder management at C-level within the bank to enhance strategic vision, engagement, contribute to business goals, and provide valuable networking opportunities for event attendees.

 Working for the CoE requires the ability to work in a highly dynamic and complex landscape, servicing the wide base of ING customers as well as all product tribes and business lines within ING Belgium.

The team

As Events lead you’ll join the CoE leadership team and report into the Head of Coms, Brand & Marcom.

The Events department aims to deliver the most creative and meaningful experiences and impactful sponsorship activations while fostering collaboration and contributing positively to both the business and the community. Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Events team: 5 FTE’s
  • Actively participate in the design, planning and organisation of internal events, top C-level events and relationship marketing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and external agencies to ensure successful event outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments including C-level to align event strategies with overall business goals.
  • Oversee the execution of events from conception to completion, ensuring all objectives are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate event performance, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Apply innovative approaches and transform the events operations more insights and data driven.
  • Team up with the global Events experts to learn, share best practices and grow our expertise.

How to succeed

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic management roles.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successful events.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
