The Mission

Payments & Workflow Solutions area is responsible for E2E delivery of payments and core banking applications for our customers in more than 20 countries from all over the ING world.

Manual Channel Engine (MCE) payments squad is responsible for E2E delivery of payments solution for our customers in 20 countries from Europe and Asia and 3 Regional HUBS.

As Product Manager @MCE, your responsibilities spread around the entire life cycle of the MCE Service offering (the product), starting from vision and strategy, defining the product roadmap to planning and overseeing the product delivery (development and support activities). You have end-to-end view on purpose and ultimately the realization of the work, making sure promises are kept, maximizing the value delivered to the customers, while adhering to legal, risk and compliance requirements of the bank. 

Your Day-to-Day Activities

  • Build excellent relationships with stakeholders, to properly understand the business vision and strategy, their detailed needs and establish realistic delivery and support objectives.
  • Delivers customer-centric solutions. For example, uses customer feedback and data to drive continuous improvement; creates an environment in which team members feel a strong sense of ownership and accountability toward creating the best possible customer experience.
  • Build own vision and roadmap, based on customer needs, technical improvements and domain long term strategy.
  • Clearly articulate and document the product/concept definition and its value, elaborating pricing models and preparing the roadmap for product development & adoption. Share outcome with squads, stakeholders, identify & align dependencies, work closely with Solution/Domain Architects.
  • Define product metrics and performance KPIs and use these product insights to make decisions and further improve the product/service.
  • Align the priorities with the stakeholders and make sure they’re visible to the delivery team, as well.
  • Ensure purpose and clarity for the squad, share vision, strategy and value (why).
  • You are accountable for effective backlog management: create, prioritize and update the backlog, and make sure it is properly refined. Assist with the elaboration/refinement of the requirements to ensure they are granular enough for the squads to deliver within a sprint. 
  • Organize all delivery and support activities to ensure the SLAs and KPIs agreed are met.
  • Create short term forecasts based on squad performance / velocity.
  • Continuously take initiative to improve the way of working (WoW) and the collaboration with / within your squad. You frequently align with the Agile Coach, Scrum master, Chapter Leads, the IT Area Leads and other Product Managers. 
  • Drive the squad in an Agile environment. Attend Agile ceremonies, such as stand-up, sprint planning, review and retrospective, focusing on deadlines and goals of the product and product release plan; lead POCLAC meetings. 
  • Offers feedback and aligns with the chapter leads for the appraisal of people in the squad. 

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor / Master’s degree (Business and/or Banking, Technical studies).
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a Product Manager role / Product Owner role, or Feature Engineering role, preferable in an Agile environment.
  • Creative mindset.
  • Product Management skills (spot the opportunity, product design, prototyping, market release, customer engagement, portfolio management, success metrics, pricing etc.).
  • Willing to explore new ideas & initiatives.
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle and IT Processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability, communication skills, including presentation and reporting skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and improve.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft technologies is a plus.
  • Foreign languages: English (advanced).
