Overview:

Global Credit Trading team (“GCT”) is responsible for credit trading in Emerging Europe, APAC and European IG, Covered Bonds & HY and US IG. The desk is an active market maker in hard currency credit and supports the primary bond activity. Flow trading, credit analysis, pricing, structuring, execution, hedging, electronic/voice trading and distribution are key components of the business. The team interacts daily with Sales, Research and DCM/Syndicate.

GCT aims to be at the front of the ongoing transformation in financial markets, focusing in particular on data analytics and systematic trading. Successful candidates will be change leaders, with a burning ambition to improve performance through the adoption of technology.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

GCT operates in a high paced environment and we are looking for a candidate who can learn quickly and adapt to an ever changing environment. The candidate will work closely with 2 other senior team members in Singapore and one senior team member based in London. There is flexibility to cover any subsector/region within APAC Corporates and Financials. The traders interact regularly with Sales, Syndicate, Research and Risk Management functions. This is a Junior trading position where guidance and on the job training will be provided on an ongoing basis. It is essential that the candidate has a strong grasp of Bond Mathematics and Credit markets. The candidate is expected to have a steep learning curve as he/she is expected to start trading in a short period of time.

  • Make markets competitively and consistently in APAC Credit to firm’s clients with the objective of producing stable and sustainable revenue across the credit cycle
  • Ability to back up and trade other APAC sectors covered by the desk
  • Maintain an active trading style and provide market colour to clients, sales, and DCM
  • Use and promote technology proactively
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share and execute initiatives to achieve it
  • Promote ING's Credit Trading franchise
  • Trade in various markets for hedging purposes (Bonds/CDS/Rates)

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education

Essential:

  • University degree (at least 2:1).

Desirable:

  • University degree from a top university most likely in maths/finance/economics/engineering
  • Advanced degree (post-graduate)

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of fixed income products, especially bonds and CDS

Desirable:

  • APAC credit trading experience
  • Coding Skills: Python, Java, Matlab
