Roles and responsibilities

As a Fraud Product Expert - within the Fraud Tribe in Belgium , you will collaborate with colleagues across the bank to enhance our service to customers and internal teams. Your role involves balancing an exceptional (digital) customer experience with the imperative of security in combatting fraud. You will translate fraud developments  into tangible improvements for our customers, demonstrating a passion for reliable solutions. In a fast-paced environment, you will take the initiative, think critically, and engage with internal and external stakeholders. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Represent our Fraud department as a expert to the different products withing ING like Cards, Payments, Loans, E-banking etc.
  • Asses the risk for all changes within different Product tribes, and advice and steer on implementation of improvements where needed.
  • Implement changes withing Fraud Tribe, for changes which are originated by Product Tribes.
  • Thinking from scratch on new features based on science or competitive analyses and bring them to our customers together with our IT, business colleagues in and outside of our department
  • Proposing and implementing improvements in our services based on data analysis and customer feedback
  • Collaborating with multiple product managers, engineers, and the product lead to create a digitization roadmap aligned with ING's growth ambitions
  • Taking ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, and driving creative solutions while considering risks and mitigating measures
  • Ensuring continuity and quality of data and services, supporting consumers of our services
  • You are responsible for the content and maintenance of the fraud information sources (e.g. fraud section in the app, fraud pages on ing.be)
  • You ensure that fraud management policies are correctly implemented in the entire ING BE organization. You pro-actively investigate whether existing fraud risk controls are sufficient and whether they are correctly applied

  • Excellent understanding of fraud risks based on real fraud cases, current and upcoming legislation and information exchange with relevant parties inside (e.g. Global fraud) and outside ING (e.g. Febelfin, anti-fraud coalition). You identify fraud trends and use your insights to influence internal and external ING stakeholders.
  • You are a bridge builder and problem solver who assists other parts of the ING BE organization to understand their fraud risks and to manage them in a pragmatic way, balancing business needs with risk controls
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a complex Agile environment
  • Experience in refining and implementing new features and functionality
  • Strong affinity with IT and understanding of complex IT landscapes, enabling you to challenge Architecture and engineering experts
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to take ownership of team processes, from vision to maintenance
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse (senior) stakeholders
  • Proactive approach to seeking and providing feedback
  • Relevant education at least at HBO/bachelor level
