The Mission

Within WB tech FMGT, the Competitive Services area is looking for a business analyst for the Global Market Database (GMDB) product domain.

The primary focus of the GMDB team is to snap, enrich, validate, store and distribute market data (including static data from exchanged traded securities and exchanges) predominantly for the Risk and Finance applications globally. The internal customer focus includes other business domains as well and therefore the key is to balance the product value to our customers.

He/she works on breaking features of larger projects like FTRB into stories, prepares refinement of stories, writes user stories and helps testing the delivered stories. Communicating and aligning with the other domains contributing to the GMDB service and roadmap is part of the work. In addition, he/she works on the daily market data validation.

The accountability areas include product development (writing user stories) and implementation (delivering stories in the sprint), innovation, process & change management and SoX control framework.

You will be part of the FMGT CS GMDB chapter and work very closely with all its members.

Your day to day

  • You are the linking pin between the GMDB stakeholders and the development team. You identify, analyse and specify business requirements and translate them into to-the-point user stories or functional specifications/design.
  • Able to clearly formulate and write product requirements, data requirements and user stories.
  • Able to work on regulatory programs as part of the GMDB scrum team (for example FRTB)
  • Enable the Product Owner to manage the work stream, its deliverables and the timelines and status updates.
  • Able to clearly explain features or user stories during refinement session with the squad.
  • Able to present delivered stories to stakeholders during sprint reviews.
  • The squad GMDB aims to create value for its Stakeholders (internal and external) by continuously optimizing the efficiency, transparency and effectiveness its data processes. GMDB focuses on enabling and supporting the related domains within the bank responsible for the Regulatory programs.
  • Openness in communication and “can do” mentality are important characteristics of this organization.
  • You will work in the FMGT, GMDB chapter in the role of Data / Business Analyst
  • The WB Tech GMDB chapter consists of people with different skills: developers, analysts and ops engineers.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Bachelor or master’s in economics, Finance or similar
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Analyst within (Market Risk/Product Control) and/or has experience with market data and/or pricing financial markets products.
  • Affinity with working with data vendors like Bloomberg.
  • Familiar with snapping data from vendors terminals.
  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum way of working.
  • In-depth experience in refinement and translation of user requirements
  • Is innovative to be able to convert market developments and customer feedback in his/her field of expertise into vision and strategy for WB Tech & ING
  • Experience in coordinating medium projects including stakeholder management and communicating with other project teams.
  • Strong "business sense" combined with the ability to research new topics to develop insights and drive actionable results.
  • Strong analytical and literacy skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to cope with internal and external pressure.
  • You are communicative, accurate and able to work with challenging deadlines.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal (work language)
