Your scope:

You report hierarchically to the Head of Finance Business Advice (FBA) in ING Netherlands under the hierarchical line of the Chief Financial Officer of ING Netherlands.

You are the finance business partner to the Executive Committee members responsible for the business segments Private Individuals (PI) and Private Banking (PB).

These business segments contribute half of the profit of ING Netherlands. In turn, ING Netherlands constitutes one-fourth of the total global income of ING Group. You and your team has a critical role in managing the publicly disclosed financial goals of ING Group as ING Netherlands PI and PB segments constitute a material part of the Group goals. 

The segments encompass financial products like Mortgages, Personal loans, Current Accounts & Savings, Insurance and Investments. ING Netherlands has a market-leading (top 3) position for many of these products. The team contributes to the managing and development of these products by participating in pricing decisions, product development, incentives design, funding portfolio design, besides setting the targets and tracking the performance.

Your key responsibilities:

You are responsible for:

  • Leading the team: from strategy to implementation, managing the goals and challenges of the team members; setting the objectives of the team
  • Managing the team of 8 FTEs who are individually product experts
  • Actively contribute to improving processes and reporting and developing finance talents in the team.
  • Building relationship with stakeholders, identifying priorities and strategic challenges and preparing them for discussion
  • Providing valuable (financial) insights  & reliable reports
  • Reporting, understanding and controlling drivers generating value and supporting the financial targets
  • Providing high-quality and accurate financial advice

We are looking for:

Proven track record and technical skills:

  • Master’s degree, preferably in business economics, business administration, or controlling as well as an Executive Education.
  • 7-15 years of experience in a financial advice position in a European financial institution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of banking (including products & balance sheet dynamics)
  • Experience in translating complex data into sound and clear advice
  • Ability to act as true independent business partner
