ING Australia’s Financial Control and Reporting team is looking to hire a Finance Data Analyst based at our Sydney office

As the Finance Data Analyst, you’ll play a central role in supporting finance systems and data governance. You’ll act as the key liaison between local stakeholders and global teams, helping to resolve system issues, coordinate testing, and ensure accurate data flows into the ledger. This is a hands-on role where you’ll champion automation, reporting enhancements, and process optimisation across the Finance function.

You will also be the key point of contact in Finance for Data Quality Governance, attending Data Governance workshops and feeding back important information to your finance stakeholders.

We’re seeking a collaborative and analytical professional with a strong understanding of accounting and finance, global finance systems, stakeholder engagement and data quality who is ready to play a key role in how effective our finance function is whilst we automate and digitise.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the central point of contact for Finance system support and data governance
  • Liaise with global teams and local SMEs to resolve system issues and ensure data accuracy
  • Monitor daily ledger feeds from Source Systems and coordinate fixes when failures occur
  • Manage setup requests for new accounts, cost centres, and project codes in PeopleSoft
  • Support UAT testing for system changes, ensuring new products and promo codes feed correctly into the ledger
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand improvement opportunities and help design automated reporting solutions
  • Document business requirements and coordinate with technical teams to build dashboards and reports
  • Attend Data Governance workshops and advise Finance teams on compliance and data quality actions
  • Provide training to new starters on Finance systems and processes
  • Support the use of automation tools, including being the central point of contact in finance for our AI bot for journal posting

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Finance systems and how data flows from source to ledger
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI
  • Strong data management and governance skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Experience in functional testing and system implementation
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities
