Senior Associate - Loan Distribution Group - ING Wholesale Bank

ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is seeking a seasoned Senior Associate to join our Loan Distribution Group within the Wholesale Bank.

Whilst the role is based in Sydney, you will be part of APAC team that is an integral part of ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory division, whose key objective is supporting our Sector and Lending teams in securing financing mandates (typically syndicated loans) where the financing requirement is greater than ING’s capacity or willingness to provide on a stand-alone basis.

The role is responsible for supporting the origination, distribution and execution of new loan opportunities as well as playing an important role in the development and execution of the growth strategy for the wider ING Wholesale Bank.

Whilst many transactions will be Australia focused you will have the opportunity to work on transactions across the APAC region working closely with sector and lending colleagues in other countries.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the current debt market trends across the Australian and APAC region
  • Liaising and supporting Sector and Lending teams based in Sydney and APAC in assessing, pitching and executing key transactions
  • Interacting and balancing activities with other team members located in Hong Kong and Singapore
  • Regular pitching at client meetings including market updates and potential options/ solutions
  • Acting as a key deal team member on behalf of LDG APAC during the origination and execution of syndicated loans; this role may include providing structuring, pricing and syndication advice to Sector and Lending teams
  • Managing and developing relationships with key banks/ investors active across the A&NZ market

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a financial institution with loan syndication experience (incl. leveraged finance) in Australia/ New Zealand preferable
  • Degree qualification
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines
  • Good analytical capabilities and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and confident with a high degree of initiative
  • High computer literacy (Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
  • Excellent team player
