Senior Associate/Junior Vice President Acquisition Finance BeLux

Your role & work environment

As an Associate or Vice-President at Acquisition Finance Belux, you will play an active role in the origination and portfolio management for acquisition finance transactions on Mid-Corporate and Corporate companies in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Acquisition Finance (AF) BeLux is responsible for both the origination and the portfolio management of acquisition and leveraged buy-out transactions in Belgium and Luxembourg. AF Belux clients mainly consist of private equity firms and corporate acquirers investing in Belgian and Luxembourg Corporate and Mid-Corporate companies.

Your key responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Origination

  • Be important contributor or (as VP) act as deal captain for new buy-out requests; hereby be responsible for leading the analysis, modelling, negotiation, structuring and loan documentation
  • For each transaction: analysis of the market, the target’s position in the market, the competitive environment, the historical financials and the business plan;
  • Analyse due diligence reports, make Cash flow modeling and debt structuring;
  • Contribute to or (as VP) be responsible for the drafting of the various credit papers and presentation of transactions in credit committees;
  • Contribute or (as VP) be responsible for Term sheet/credit documentation negotiation with borrowers and lawyers, and for the closing of transactions;
  • Assisting RSMs with advice on the financing of buy-out transactions with deal size lower than EUR 20Mio (AF Regional Midsize)

Responsibility 2: Portfolio and in-life management

  • You will be assigned an own portfolio of existing AF Belux clients and will be on top of relevant information on the client, its peers and/or its sector, and share this with the relevant stakeholders
  • You will contribute or act as as deal captain for in-live requests (new requests, new financing needs, waivers and amendments) and also for proactive identification of opportunities; hereby be responsible for analysis, modelling, negotiation, structuring and loan documentation
  • You will collaborate with Restructuring Department in case of credit restructuring
  • You will be responsible for the data quality and reporting of your portfolio (filing, covenant reporting, internal and regulatory reporting)
  • You will develop a long term relationship as a trusted advisor with sponsors and with company management;

Responsibility 3: coaching and knowledge management

  • You will keep up-to-date knowledge on the specific domain, on the business environment and on products, actively share this with the team and actively promote sharing of knowledge;
  • You will contribute to the coaching of more junior colleagues.

As an AF Belux Associate/ Vice-President you will also need:

  • A master degree in economics, management, law or comparable, and min. 3 (Associate) to min. 6 (junior VP) years of relevant experience, including a proven track record in complex lending transactions and in general dealing with clients
  • Strong knowledge of complex financial analysis and good knowledge on techniques related to the domain of expertise
  • Strong credit skills and judgment
  • Good negotiation and client-facing experience
  • Well-organised approach and ability to work on several deals/tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work autonomously, while being part of a team and demonstrating a clear "one Bank" cross-buy attitude
  • Very good oral and written skills in Dutch, French and English.
