ING is looking for a Solution Architect in our Retail & Banking Technology (R&BT) department with experiences in Customer Interaction and Campaign management solutions. Preferably through experience in a large and internationally oriented company.

The team

ING has thousands of engineers across the globe. The purpose of R&BT is to make their lives easier, as well as to get to a level of interoperability that makes reuse of components the standard. The Channels & Journey Orchestration tribe of R&BT is responsible for building, deploying, and managing services that own the customer experience and orchestrate the journey with ING’s products and services. The key responsibility area of this position is to drive the solution architectures for our Customer Interaction and Campaign management solutions.

Your role

The Solution Architect strengthens the design and implementation quality of IT Systems, optimizing technology infrastructure, operational efficiency, scalability, reliability and security, ensuring seamless alignment between design and implementation and business and enterprise architecture. As a Solution Architect you translate functional architecture into solution design that will cross domains and multiple applications.

Key Competencies/Skills

  • Tech Savvy and intrinsic curiosity in technologies, frameworks and platforms and keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends, frameworks, patterns, concepts and coding languages.
  • Experience in the area of Customer Interaction and Campaign management solutions (as a strong plus).
  • Deliver and present solution architectures to engineers, peer architects and tribe leadership.
  • Develop and maintain architectural artifacts, including solution architectures, data models and other relevant documentation. Experience with ArchiMate modelling language is a plus.
  • Provide technical guidance and drive the delivery of target architectures and identify constraints and issues during development.
  • Foster reuse across the enterprise and ensure the developed solution will be exposed for future potential reuse.
  • Experience with applying enterprise integration patterns and messaging technologies (modern API development technologies, messaging technologies like Kafka).
  • Understanding of reliability, performance and scalability patterns
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration of deploying containerized applications

The Retail & Banking Technology (R&BT) architecture team is functionally part of ING’s Enterprise Architecture department with architects working closely together worldwide. The group of architects of about 17 people has the mission to develop and execute the architecture and advice on the strategy of the R&BT department. We work in a fun and creative environment, and we’re dedicated to bringing out the best in both each other and our products.
