Mission

The Accounting & Reporting Specialist ensures accurate and timely recording of operational expenses and related accounting activities in compliance with ING Group standards and IFRS. This role supports the integrity of financial reporting by managing invoices, journal entries, and control processes, while contributing to system testing and process improvements.

Your day to day

  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Ensure full compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and ING Group accounting principles, including tax-related requirements.

  • Contribute to developing and improving accounting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.

  • Use Excel tools to streamline data management and reporting.

  • Support internal and external audits, providing complete and timely documentation.

  • Perform system functionality checks and user acceptance testing for finance-related system changes.

  • Apply and maintain the control framework (ING Group Finance minimum standards, SOX) to ensure robust compliance.

  • Collaborate across Finance teams, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What you bring to the team

  • Education: University degree in Economics, Accounting, or Finance.

  • Experience: 5–7 years in General Ledger control activities and/or Accounting Methodology.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.

  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365; advanced Excel; exposure to automation tools is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems preferred.

  • Language: Strong English skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex accounting topics clearly.

  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and committed to accuracy and compliance.
