Your role & work environment

ING Solutions Investment Management (ISIM) is looking for a Fund Risk Officer to support the current and planned developments of its activities in Luxembourg.

ISIM is a subsidiary of ING Luxembourg. ISIM benefits from the status of a “Super ManCo” as it has the licenses to manage both UCITS and Alternative Investment Fund (AIF). ISIM oversees Investment funds distributed by ING Group entities.

Launched in 2014, ISIM is pursuing its development and its positioning as the Management Company (‘ManCo’) of ING Group and is the key tool for Investment fund solutions within the Group, reaching assets under management of over 40bln EUR.

As a Fund Risk Officer, you will actively contribute to the roles and responsibilities of the Risk Management (RM) function.

As part of the Risk Management team, you will perform the following tasks:

Risk management process

  • Assist in the definition, review and documentation of the risk management process, policy, procedures and approaches;

Risk identification, assessment and control measures

  • Contribute to the risk identification and definition of the risk profile and limit system of each managed UCITS/AIF;
  • Develop and/or implement new risk management arrangements and/or techniques
  • Perform adequate risk assessments, with regard to any specific request, project or event;
  • Define remediating actions and/or implement new control measures as needed.

Risk measurement and monitoring

  • Calculate and monitor risk metrics of UCITS/AIF;
  • Define and implement adequate stress testing;
  • Review NAV reports on a regular basis to monitor fund activity and identify any unusual item;
  • Perform any other risk analysis and monitoring as needed.

Investment restriction monitoring

  • Review investment restriction control reports and analyse potential breaches.

Risk reporting

  • Prepare risk management reports to the Senior Mgt/Board;
  • Prepare regulatory reporting in relation with risk aspects.

Operational & IT risk management of the ManCo

  • Act as second line of defence within the ManCo to ensure that risks are properly identified, assessed, and managed by the first line of defence in line with internal policies;
  • Review and analyse new projects, processes, products, investor documents and provide support to the first line of defence.

As a Fund Risk Officer you will also need:

  • Master in economics/finance/mathematics or equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the fund industry, ideally in the risk management function of a ManCo
  • Very good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets & products, in particular financial derivatives
  • Solid knowledge in risk management of funds using a VaR approach and in scope of EMIR is a must
  • Knowledge of operational risk management and IT risk management (incluing DORA) will be considered as an asset
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, VBA)
  • Rigorous and critical scepticism
  • Sense of responsibility and autonomy
  • Team player with good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Fluency in English and French
