Lead CCR Portfolio Management and Analysis (CCR PM & A)

The Financial Risk department sets and controls the financial risk strategy across the bank by living its purpose of safeguarding ING’s financial health. The department provides strategic guidance on financial risk (in trading and banking books and related to the ING balance sheet), safeguards regulatory compliance, is responsible for model development for banking and trading risk as well as for Counterparty Credit Risk Oversight, including Portfolio Management and Analysis.

The Financial Risk CCR Portfolio Management and Analysis team within Financial Risk has a range of responsibilities across the entire Bank’s balance sheet.

The purpose of this department is:

· Oversight and alignment of the CCR portfolio for FM globally, including setting risk appetite and independent risk assessment of the CCR portfolio risks.

· Centralized role for CCR.

· Model Owner for Risk Appetite measures.

· Execution of the embedding of RAS measurements in ING’s infrastructure.

· Execute CCR coordination towards Regulators and Supervisors.

The preferred candidates are professionals in financial risk and experienced in providing high quality independent risk assessment and advice on the counterparty credit risks to business and senior management.

What does a CCR PM & A do?

As lead of the team, you will manage a diverse team and play a key role in determining and driving forward our strategy, priorities and change initiatives and aligning these to ING’s overall direction. Your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are key to maintaining good relations with our stakeholders, other risk teams in head-office as well as in locations, Finance, and if required also our external stakeholders of ING.

Activities in your scope include:

· Monitoring, management, execution, and oversight of Global CCR Portfolio management function.

· Set the CCR Portfolio RAS, with dedicated risks applicable to ING’s CCR strategy, portfolio and products. Specifically: set a General and Specific risk appetite framework on Wrong Way risk.

· Independently assess the CCR portfolio risks and advice the MBB on major CCR risks arising and/or adverse portfolio / markets developments.

· Perform the Secretariat and Coordination role for the CCR forum.

· Key stakeholder for the CCR Best Practices program, a multi-year change program to bring ING’s CCR management in line with ECB and BCBS Best Practices.

· Risk Management on CCPs and affiliate clearing.

· Lead the annual CCR RAS cycles.

You will be leading and/or representing Financial Risk in bank wide projects. Together with the team you translate the ING and Financial Risk strategy and priorities into KPI’s and planning. You will ensure that all people are equipped with the right expertise and craftsmanship in these areas to execute on these plans and fulfil their purpose. In addition, you will be responsible for coaching and developing your team from a professional and personal level.

Who are we looking for?

· An experienced professional with an up-to-date understanding of financial risk management, Counterparty Credit Risk.

· Academic degree, preferably in Economics, Econometrics or Quantitative Finance

· Completed additional professional qualifications in the financial risk field such as CFA, FRM or PRMIA.

· Significant experience in Financial Markets, understanding the Capital Market risks in relation to Counterparty Credit Risk including Liquidity Risk, Leverage, Solvency and Geo-Political risk implications.

· At least 10 years of relevant experience in the financial risk, ALM, Finance or Treasury area, of which at least 5 years of experience in CCR or market risk management. Fully up to date on the latest risk management developments in this area.

· Experience and affinity with agile way of working.

· People manager with proven ability regarding coaching, development and performance management

· Experience in being a sparring partner/advisor to Senior Management

Additionally, you should have

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail, translating complex matters into simple and concise terms for senior management

· Result-driven and able to push things forward in a persistent and constructive manner

· The ability to challenge the status quo

· Great team player skills with a hand-on mentality

· And of course, you should be fluent in English
