The Mission

The Technical Product Manager’s role is to coordinate all the Technical Product Owners of the Wholesale Banking Data lake’s platform squads and ensure everything is progressing as per the agreed roadmap and strategy.

Defines, builds, and launches complex technology products by bridging the gap between DevOps teams and technical strategy. He / She will translate goals and architectural designs into technical specifications, manage roadmaps, oversee the product lifecycle, and ensure technical feasibility using a strong background in data platform management or engineering. 

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the IT Area Lead to align on strategy and roadmap for the datalake.
  • Articulate the product vision while capturing input from the stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in architecture meetings to define or help define solutions and delivery patterns for the datalake.
  • Combine platform and systems knowledge, product management, and business expertise to drive the end-to-end product vision.
  • Coordinate the activities and priorities of the platform and tooling teams to meet the delivery commitments.
  • Steer for standardization and clear purpose with your team of Technical Product Owners.
  • Drive epics and features from different programs or for strategic improvements related to your product.
  • Communicate and drive the priorities of the product backlog to IT squads and steer delivery.
  • Act as a single point of contact for senior stakeholders to identify pain points and improvements on the run side.
  • Own the product end-to-end, you are accountable for product vision, and you define product roadmap, prioritize the backlog, and maximize technical value.
  • Identify opportunities and provide solutions for improvement.
  • Manage communication with stakeholders and act as contact person for the team.
  • Assess the efficiency of end-to-end operational processes by identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Act as one of the Technical Leads of the platform and tooling teams.
  • Contribute to strategy and lifecycle management of Data Lake implementation
  • Collaborate closely with an international team made of Chapter Leads, Product Owners, Agile Coaches, Business Analysts, Architects, ETL DevOps engineers and Infrastructure Specialists
  • Balance functional and non-functional requirements, including risk, reliability, IT Run, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage IT risk work and communication with the IT risk team.
  • Actively participate in quarterly prioritization sessions.
  • Organize regular stakeholder updates, communicate progress, and escalate impediments.
  • Monitor squads performance metrics and ensure clarity of product vision across teams.
  • Mentor Technical Product Owners and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and delivery excellence.
  • Up to date with the latest industry standards and trends in the area of Data Management

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience:
    • Ability to manage technical products.
    • Ability to work successfully in multiple countries and cross functional team, make sure these different cultures and backgrounds will work together as one team; considering different habits, beliefs, languages and time-zones.
    • As Technical Product Manager of a DevOps squads responsible for platform development and maintenance;
    • Capability to steer the delivery of various initiatives with both direct and indirect influence.
    • Ability to create a manage product roadmaps and product vision.
    • Ability to manage different stakeholders and their priorities.
    • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop Technical Product Owners and other team members, fostering a strong sense of purpose and accountability
    • Ability to interpret and understand technical requirements and implications.
    • Strong ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate product vision and updates to stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and productivity
    • Strong technical background on Oracle DB and Cloudera Data Platform clusters (CDP/CDH/Cloudera Manager) and platform maintenance;
    • Hadoop ecosystem components: HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark
    • HDFS replication and management;
    • Hive optimization and Metastore tuning;
    • Spark on YARN performance tuning;
    • Automating cluster operations and CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and pipelines;
    • Security and governance frameworks (Kerberos, Ranger, Atlas)
    • Capacity planning, cluster tuning, and resource optimization strategies
    • With administering Linux systems;
    • With Ansible playbooks;
    • With CI / CD;
    • With vendor management;
    • With IT Risk controls, Incident Management, Security, Reliability, Disaster Recovery;
    • With Agile – Scrum methodology;
    • IT Architecture know-how is a plus;
    • In Banking industry is considered a plus.

  • Knowledge:
    • 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
    • Experience in a role closely interacting with Tech organizations.
    • Sound experience in building and realizing Product roadmaps.
    • Oracle DB, Data Lake and Big Data know-how, ETL tooling;
    • Cloudera Data Platform clusters (CDP/CDH/Cloudera Manager);
    • Hadoop ecosystem components: HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, NiFi;
    • Security and governance frameworks: Kerberos, Ranger, Atlas;
    • Networking;
    • OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server;
    • CI/CD: Azure DevOps  Pipelines; 
    • Scripting : Ansible, Bash, Python;
    • Monitoring: Kibana-Logstash (data visualization plugin for Elastic Search), Grafana & Prometheus for server and infrastructure
    • Private and Public Cloud Solutions
    • Experience working with real time streaming
    • Direct / indirect experience working with ETL tooling like DataStage, Informatica, DBT;
    • Overall experience as a developer is a plus;

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
