Job Overview

  • A Product Manager in IT combines broad and strong knowledge of technology with deep knowledge of a functional domain. A PO is responsible for the product vision, roadmap, backlog and stakeholder management
  • Product Managers will ensure that features and functions that are developed are in alignment & compliance with ING global standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management policies. 
  • Product Managers may have Feature Engineers report into them.

Key Responsibilities

·      Create and communicate a Product vision and strategy for delivery squads

·      Maximize the value of product delivery by owning, ordering, prioritizing and communicating the Product Backlog

·      Solve impediments encountered in the development of the Product

·      Actively involved in the creation of Epics, Features, User Stories and Tasks 

·      Active and timely Backlog management in collaboration with business and other IT stakeholders, with the ability to adapt quickly to impediments and challenges

·      Build great relationships with stakeholders in establishing realistic delivery and support objectives

·      Ensuring that functional and non-functional requirements are defined and met. Non-functional requirements include, but are not limited to: security, resilience, performance, contractual, legal and compliance requirements and obligations

·      Designing and implementing risk mitigation plans

·      Ensuring that Regulatory requirements are adequately met

·      Take the role of an end-customer representative for the product and ensure that the end-customer’s experience and compliance is recognized by our delivery Squads

·      Ensure alignment with other requirements and squads that fall within and outside the Tribe/domain

·      Help the IT Area Lead, Squad Lead monitor the quality and performance of squads

·      Act as a customer evangelist and orient IT engineers towards a customer first focus

·      Coach mentor & train feature engineers and analysts. 

·      Participate in risk assessments and mitigating activities as needed

·      Participate in audits and ensure the implementation of recommendations

Minimum Qualifications

·      Knowledge of basic Public Cloud concepts

·      Experience in defining/designing infrastructure platforms, capabilities, and requirements

·      Exceptional Stakeholder Management

·      Ability to think independently and contribute to the overall effort without much direction.

·      Ability to deal with ambiguity, simplify complexity and to work well under pressure

·      Outstanding analytical skills

·      Action-oriented, decisive approach to work required, with the willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure deliverables are met on time

·      Experience in guiding and realizing change

·      Proven experience in driving initiatives with high impact

·      Strong communication, networking and influencing skills
