A day in the life of an IT Lead
The Customer & Data Domain is responsible for managing and optimizing the bank's (customer) data and ensuring the seamless integration of data-driven solutions across all business units. This domain focuses on enhancing customer experience through high quality data solutions, supporting all business units in their strategic journey. Key responsibilities are a.o. availability of data for all operations of the bank, ensuring data integrity and governance, and leveraging advanced data technologies to drive ING business growth.

Main objectives are to ensure business & technology delivery, management and growing of the teams and further contribution & adoption of the group data strategy while keeping the overall cost and risk under control.

Our purpose: We empower ING BE customers, employees and stakeholders through data & insights while building a safer bank and society.

The IT Domain consists of 5 different IT Areas:
1.    Customer Data & Onboarding.
2.    Data Management.
3.    Enterprise & Content Automation. 
4.    Analytics & Know your customer (KYC).
5.    HR, Finance & Reporting.

Sizing :
Currently, around 500 FTE are in scope of the IT Customer & Data Domain (internal and externals). The delivery teams are spread across on- and offshore locations (Brussels, Romania, India and Manila). Additionally, the IT Domain is responsible for several managed service teams of around 100 FTE.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Management:
Lead and manage a team of highly specialized IT professionals in a multicultural environment within the Customer & Data Domain. 
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Ensure effective succession planning and knowledge retention within the team.

Strategic Planning & Execution.
Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the Customer & Data Domain in alignment with the bank's overall IT and Data strategy.
Oversee the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance data management and customer experience.
Ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints.

Data Management & Analytics:
Ensure the integrity, governance, security, and availability of data for ING Belgium.
Leverage data analytics to provide actionable insights and drive business decisions.
Collaborate with other business units to integrate data-driven solutions and enhance customer experience.

Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and regulators.
Negotiate and manage contracts with key service providers.
Represent the Customer & Data Domain in various forums and committees both ING internally (ING Belgium and at ING Group) and outside of ING.

Budget & Resource Management:
Manage the budget for the Customer & Data Domain, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Oversee the procurement and management of IT assets and services.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Skills required:
•    Leadership roles and People management skills with 20+ year experience, needed to be the successful manager of managers of these highly specialized Tech teams.
•    Proven ability to manage a significant (double digit Mio) budget and an extensive project/contract portfolio in a disciplined way.
•    At least 10 years of Tech experience in understanding the business of banking and the application landscape supporting the digital bank for its customers and employees. 
•    Solid technical background on IT and data technologies in the banking industry, but also insights of what is happening on the market. Hands-on experience helps in dialogues with these highly specialized teams.
•    Excellent relational and negotiation skills needed to discuss with a variety of internal and external stakeholders: local business management like tribes, board members, social partners, other country and business lines in ING Group, vendors, regulators, etc.
•    Proven experience in leading change, innovation, and transformation together with the colleagues in Tech and business lines while ensuring stability and security, including taking the lead in IT crisis situations.
•    Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing is mandatory, including presenting and speaking in public and media. Knowledge of Dutch and French is an advantage.
