Job Description:

End to end provider (BT) and consumer (CIO retail) accountability, designing and implementation of shared solutions across the retail franchises. While adoption of shared solutions has improved significantly over the last few years, we need to move much closer to 100% adoption. Rolling out OnePAM, the full TPA suite as well as shared product engines going forward, allows ING to leverage scalable Tech towards the realization of the bank’s strategy in general and Retail ambitions in particular. Bringing single leadership across the producer and consumer sides will harness collaboration and will further implementation. And while functional reporting will not include NL, BE and GER, the content of the CIO Retail & BTP will cover the full scope of the Retail business, i.e. decisions on retail solutions will go across all markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Formation and Implementation: Develop and execute the global BT / Retail (producer & Consumer) Tech strategy and product operating model to enable and ensure the usage of shared solutions across geographies. Build and communicate the strategy and ensure the strategy is aligned with ING's organizational objectives and following the industry best practice for information and technology.
  • Further expand both functionality and scalability of our digital technology platform, to support our (retail) business in its strategy to become an open digital banking platform; Make the platform(s) easy to access, onboard to and secure by design. leveraging the HUBS for the hierarchal and functional scope.
  • Effective and efficient adoption of centrally developed services / platforms in all Retail countries incl decom of local solutions in line with roadmap. Plus Facilitate adoption of centrally developed services to other users outside of Retail (multiple entities and countries across ING).
  • Further build, improve and leverage data analytics capabilities, to facilitate consolidation and harmonization of platforms and engineers across locations.
  • Organizational capability building: Identify the capabilities needed to meet the business needs. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfil their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other formal or informal methods.
  • Drive and maintain IT risk within appetite: Ensure that the business activities within the BT / Retail Tech organization comply with relevant external regulatory and/or voluntary codes and with internal policies to minimize business risk and protect the reputation of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Master's degree / PhD in computer science or a related area

Work Experience

  • Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (+15 years of experience). Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework. Solid experience in strategic workforce planning. Broad experience in Tech leadership.
