ING in Asia Pacific

In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the Country Management Team do in ING?

The team supports the Singapore Country manager run the day to day activities related to the Singapore business. This includes aspects related to Governance, Regulatory Compliance and business strategy execution.

What would you be doing?

You will be supporting Business Manager, Wholesale Banking, Singapore with a variety of Singapore branch and business management related activities. Your tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Support the country manager and business manager - WB Singapore in running the various governance and Branch committees.

  • Support regional / APAC initiatives that originate from Singapore or from the region.

  • Preparing meeting packs, Internal memorandums and presentations as required. Follow up on action items, deliverables, internal and external commitments to ensure they are being tracked and completed on time.

  • Manage ad-hoc requests to meet business needs. 

What qualities and skills are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

  • Quick Learner.

  • Someone who is currently studying Commerce/Finance/Accounting.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Enjoys interacting and working with a various stakeholders.

Note: Subject to developments of COVID-19 situation and business continuity plan of ING, candidate might need to “Work from Home” during parts of the internship

What would you gain from this internship?

  • Experience a banking environment and get a feel for how a wholesale bank operates. Ability to interact and learn from a variety of banking professionals and build upon skills such as team work, influencing and learn banking concepts.
