Due to recent growth, we’re on the hunt for a number of experienced Risk Managers to join our Safe Business Daily Banking team.We have a live opportunity for both a permanent role and a 12-months fixed term contactor.

At ING, the Daily Banking Tribe is responsible for driving the end-to-end performance of the Daily Banking business through development of a clear strategy, and working collaboratively with all areas of the business to drive cross functional execution of this strategy.

Our ideal candidates will come from a consulting or banking background with proven operational risk banking experience. A major plus will be a background with call centres or complaint management experience within the risk arena. You’ll thrive in this role if you love being hands on, as a solo contributor, working collaboratively in a lean fast paced environment.

This role is responsible for designing and setting the strategy for the customer experiences that sit around our foundational customer obligations (KYC, Risk, Policy, Systems & Data). You’ll have a sharp eye for how to optimise processes for customers whilst meeting Risk, Regulatory and overall ING targets.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate issues and incidents impacting retail clients.
  • Ensure customer base aligns with risk appetite through monitoring and decision-making.
  • Oversee customer data quality initiatives to meet obligations.
  • Develop principles for retail customer processes, including data quality, governance, and accessibility.
  • Optimise customer journeys and support compliance with KYC, AML, CRS, and FATCA requirements.
  • Lead first-line risk management, including governance, reporting, and audit processes.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, banking, governance, or services with planning and direction-setting skills.
  • Knowledge of KYC, data governance, and financial services regulations with expertise in product design, process improvement, and customer experience.
  • Proven ability to enhance governance, compliance, and due diligence.
  • Experience managing complex issues, incidents, and remediation initiatives.
  • Skilled in influencing diverse stakeholders across teams (e.g., Contact Centre, Technology).
  • Strong analytical mindset, using data for decision-making.
  • Skilled in operational excellence, workflow management, and governance.
  • Familiarity with retail banking systems, processes, and MS Office tools.
  • Background in compliance, business management, and commercial decision-making.
  • Effective written and oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Agile experience and designing customer journeys or digital experiences (desirable).
