In your role as a Senior engineer, you will take responsibility for developing, innovating, and safeguarding knowledge within the Digital domain. Through collaboration with other developers your work will improve the digital banking experience for our customers and our staff.

This team supports the web assets of the Digital tribe, key properties are the public ing.com.au website and Online Banking. We are currently embarking on a significant program of work to develop a new mobile app which will be more closely intertwined with our web experience and technologies. This hire will be mainly working on our Online Banking platform.

As a Senior engineer in the software engineering community, you will play a key role in the continual advancement of our engineering practices through practices such as Agile and Continuous Delivery, but you will also remain highly aware of industry trends and bring the best of the global engineering practices to ING.

What you’ll do

  • Engage in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept to final product.

  • Utilize modern testing practices to consistently deliver functional software.

  • Ensure quality and ownership of deliverables, setting and improving standards in line with ING’s agile methodology.

  • Adopt a "security by design" approach, using techniques to enhance software security and applying "defense in depth".

  • Recognize and adapt to different programming paradigms, becoming productive in new languages quickly.

What we’re are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Full stack engineer creating responsive web applications, using Java,  HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

  • Experience working on web projects, with Angular or React or other JS frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience and proficient understanding of tools across full SDLC including IDE, source control, CI, test, mocking, work tracking, defect management, etc. 

  • Experience working with enterprise level Mobile and Web apps.

  • Solid Software Engineering fundamentals including, Systems design, algorithmic programming and DB orchestration.
